Overall Conditions: Good to Very Good

We’ve seen about 2″ of new snow since Monday. Forecast shows decent snow this week so we expect conditions to gradually improve throughout the week, getting us set up nicely for the weekend. The trails overall are icy! We’re working with a 1-5″ base which means the corners will be swept & icy. Due to the rain a week ago a few water holes reared their ugly faces again. Please ride cautiously!

Trail 2 from Hurley to Ramsay Crossing:

Overall rating: Very Good

Groomed 1/30.

Trail 2 from Ramsay Crossing to Wakefield:

Overall rating: Marginal

Groomed 1/31.

Trail 2 from Wakefield to Marenisco:

Overall Rating: Good to Excellent

Groomed 2/1.

Trail 8 from Bingo’s to Tula Crossing:

Latest report from one of our drivers has trail 8 west and trail 1 south (all the way to the MI/WI border) in very good condition with wet areas under control! We’re looking at single digits to teens for lows all week – great news for the trail conditions. I’ll keep posting more as I get reports from our drivers and/or snowmobilers in the area. Carolyn at the Hoop

As previously posted, please stay on the trails in Bergland. You are not allowed to ride the highway through town and may be ticketed. You can only access the gas station by following the trail through the park and crossing directly across from the gas station from Antonio’s Restaurant. If riding the roads through Merriweather (down to the Hoop ‘N Holler Tavern or to the lake) please remember to ride at the posted speed limit of 25 mph and stay to the side and as always be aware that this is a residential area and watch for traffic.

Trail 3 North – Good with a few wet spots
Trail 3 south to WI – Good
Trail 2 – fair/good with a few areas with some rocks mixed in and there are wet spots starting to freeze up west of trail 13 south and further west by Barb lake
Trail #13 south – fair/good there are 2 wet areas starting to freeze with caution signs south of US Hwy 2 crossing one about 100 ft long

Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club – 02/01

Groomer Report:

There is about 16′ of snow on the ground and about 2 – 3′ of fresh fell yesterday and last night.

We are grooming every day. The trails are overall GOOD with a couple areas in FAIR condition. There are some thin & wet areas to deal with but they are getting better. Watch for some large wet spots on trail #3 between Bruce Crossing and Rockland, you have plenty of room to get around them with a snowmobile and none are very deep and most of that trail is very nice as you get farther North.

The 6th Annual trailside hotdog cookout will be held on Saturday the 4th of February. Stop by at the clubhouse in Trout Creek along trail #8 and have a hotdog on us. We will also have wonderful homemade cookies, coffee and hot chocolate. We usually are up and running around 10:00AM and will go until around 3:00PM, conditions permitting. This is a thank you from the club to the riders for coming to our area!

Please DO NOT climb the “Military Hill” from the highway, US 45, to the fence, we have ongoing erosion issues there and the hill climbers are adding to the problem. YOU COULD CAUSE THIS MAJOR TRAIL TO BE CLOSED IF YOU CONTINUE!

Please ride on your own side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!

Trail #3 North to Rockland is FAIR – GOOD. Some wet and thin spots to watch for. Much better on the North end.
Trail #8 from Ewen to trail #3 North is GOOD.
Trail #3/8 East from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 South intersection is FAIR with some thin spots.
Trail #3/8 West from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 North intersection is FAIR with some thin spots.
Trail #3 South from the railroad grade to the CC road is FAIR.
Trail #8 from the trail #3 South intersection to Trout Creek is GOOD.
Trail #8 from Trout Creek to Kenton is GOOD.
Trail #8 from Kenton to Sidnaw is GOOD.
Trail #8/15 from Sidnaw to the trail #109 intersection is GOOD.

Watch for the groomers, they take up most of the trail and have the right of way!
Please pull over and DIM your lights for them, they have a long night out there.
Remember, you can get off the trail, the groomer can not.

When I report “base” that is the depth of the un-groomed snow on my yard South of Sidnaw. There is no possible way to accurately report what the depth is under your snowmobile on the groomed trail, it varies widely.

Have a fun and safe trip, thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses!
