WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Here is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025. Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Not too impactful of a system in terms of Michigander standards, but do take it slow if you encounter any snow squalls and/or visibly slick roads. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeyHere is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Town Hall Snowmobile Club Paradise MI >> Paradise - Grand Marais-Pine Stump- lots of boondocking and two tracks.. Trails are brutally “hard” after the refreeze. Some sections got a few inches of fresh snow today which made for good but most were very “chattery” with engine temps constantly elevating. We stayed mostly off the trails where possible as the two tracks were excellent! If you are the kind that cares about hyfax and carbides- conditions aren’t for you but plenty of fun to be had. #paradise #newberry #snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 12/19/25 15 degrees this morning and snowing. We got just a light dusting last night. Yesterday was a night mare. I hit 43 degrees here and got about a 1/4 inch of rain. We lost quite a bit of snow. Looking out my window I would say I have just less than a foot left. We were off to a good start! The big thing I think people don`t realize is that the snow melt has to go somewhere. Our trail system has a lot of low country and guess where the water goes....right.....back into the swamps! This water then gets warmed a bit because of the rotting vegetation and there you have it.....more darn water holes on the trails!!!! This is the main reason we can`t get going as early as some of the other surrounding clubs do. As far as our plans go.....It looks like the weather is gonna cool back down to normal for the next few days. We are gonna let things freeze back up and then Sunday we are gonna send 2 machines w/o drags down the Falls trail #45 and see what we got. Trails #452 & #453 around the Point are ridable but thin in areas, they are not groomed yet, just packed. Trail #8 to da Stump is groomed but it is thin in spots too. Trail #8 south is just packed and the gates into the Federal Forest section are closed because of water. Thats about it for now. This thaw really hurt our plans. LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and stay cold Groomer Chris #paradise #newberry ... See MoreSee Less

NEWBERRY - EASTERN U.P. UPDATE via Clarke Motel >> UPDATE.....With all the calls and messages today after the warm day yesterday and the rain, here is how we faired here!! First off two of my guests rode 80 miles this morning from here to Brimley and then up the 8 to the closed Paradise gate and back, they were very happy with the trails so far. I just returned from taking videos at multiple trail crossings in our area, also took a Pic out my truck window of the current conditions here at the Clarke and also driving down M28. Now with that said, some low areas in trails where slush and water stood yesterday may not be froze yet today, the temp is 13 degrees right now and the feels like is minus 4. So things changed quick, its currently snowing lightly now. #newberry #snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> 03/18
📣 This just in from riders returning from riding the Keweenaw 3/17/25
“We rode 5 hours yesterday. Trail 3 from The Trailside Lodge ➡️ Trail 132 around Lac La Belle ➡️ Trail 134 ➡️ 136 to High Rock! Excuse me if I have any trail #s wrong, but they were all great trails! Even if icy in areas, still in good shape. It was a fantastic day! We ended our season at High Rock. Trail 136 was very rideable, better than I’ve seen it in past!
Thanks for all of your great info this season! Your posts are great and helpful info. Thank you! We appreciate you!”
Thank you so much for sharing and your words of appreciation! It’s great to hear you are glad you made the choice to come ride the Keweenaw one last time this season!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> 03/18
Never say never! Literally just about every season riders say “it’s over…. Long before it’s truly over” in SOME riders eyes!
We get it…. Spring riding isn’t for everyone…but for those that do enjoy, what can sometimes be a challenge, but “worth it” to them, we will keep updating you!
John Vogler rode the Keweenaw today and this was his detailed report
“hi there . here is our ride today:
tried to find a place to park, ended up parking by Vansville/Cliff View. We rode trail 3 north, pretty “snicy” as we like to call it – snow and ice. A little chop to it, a recent groomer run would have helped huge. We got to 132W, took that down toward Lac La Belle. This trail was excellent. There were a couple washouts where it said wet area, but small spots. We were very happy. Tgen we continued up on 132, it was pretty good, very little chop. We then took 134 east. 134 had a little chop to.it, but decent, again, a groomer run here yesterday would have made it excellent. We took 134 around then 135 back down to 134. This was a little snicy. couple bare spots, but could go around them no problem. Then 134, and 3 back to the truck. It was overall ok to pretty decent. a groomer run would have made it perfect, but I guess they aren’t running and not sure why. Trail 3 was a little icy coming back. Hope this helps others. Thanks!”
Thanks John for that update and happy to hear you were able to enjoy the day of late season riding.
Only time will tell what this incoming “storm” actually produces. We just want you to be aware, of the forecast and potential for still riding if you choose to do so. Please checkout www.keweenawcountyonline.org to see previous years snowfalls. It appears the majority of this forecasted storm will head closer to the Big Bay/Kiva area as Bob shared in screenshots from Accuweather!
Thanks again, John, for sharing your update!
