KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> 29 December 2025
So far I'm showing 9 inches at 8:00am and still snowing and they are still calling for another 3-7 by this evening. As you can see the boys were out all night trying to get ahead of all this snow. If you want to know who's been out grooming get the #groomertracker app on your phone today. It's a cheap way to be informed at $10 per club and $5 of it goes directly to that club.

Gaylord Area Trail Report – 12/25

Gaylord Bureau –

December 25, 2024

8:10 a.m.

We had an epic start to snowmobile season – the Gaylord area got hit with over 90 inches of snow to start out winter!

Fresh snow brought lots of smiles to the trails this week! Trails were groomed last night and are in good condition. Our groomers are putting in the miles to keep things as smooth and rideable as possible. Enjoy the ride, and stay safe out there! Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord.

A few things to remember about groomers:

– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way.
– Please move off the trail when groomers are coming and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night.
– Have fun and stay safe!

Want to be ready? Get a free trail map delivered right to your mailbox and plan your adventure!

As always, check back with us for updates and weather reports.

Heavy snow and strong winds gusting to 45-55+ mph are expected to create localized blizzard conditions across open areas at times from mid-morning into early afternoon. Drifting snow may make travel especially difficult on secondary roadways. Power outages will also be possible, especially across areas that experienced icing on Sunday.
