HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 02/20
We had a groomer out on the west side of our trail system last night and everything was groomed other than the cross village loop (710/71 from Beacon Hill west). The railroad grade was last groomed on Tuesday, East side (Alanson / Pellston) was done on Sunday. We will have two groomers going out tonight, one on the grade, the other on the east side.
Trails are in great shape!! We have a little warm up on the way, it looks like temperatures are rising up into the mid 30’s Monday – Wednesday and then will dip back down below freezing on Thursday.

PETOSKEY AREA UPDATE via Petoskey Snowmobile and ORV Club >> Groomer Tracker app shows areas being groomed tonight, groomer Kyle just switched with groomer Matt. Matt is heading south on 76 from Chandler Hill Road to our turn around with Jordan Valley. The green dot are groomers. Gusty winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow, leading to quick drops in visibility – especially across open areas. Wind chills look to stay below zero today into tonight. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We had all three groomers out last night & the snow was coming down! Everything was groomed other than the Alanson Trail & Cross Village loop. The Alanson trail has the least amount of snow on our system & there are still some open water holes but overall the trails are in good shape.
Trees are continuing to fall from the ice storm damage earlier this year so please keep that in mind when out riding & especially in high winds. If you come across a down tree & are unable to safely remove it from the trail please let us know.
Temperatures are supposed to stay cold through the weekend & we are expected to get another 2-6 inches of snow. There is a warm up predicted Tuesday-Thursday with possible rain, we are hoping that changes but we will keep everyone updated.

Several inches of snow is expected across parts of northwest lower and the eastern U.P. by Saturday morning with additional lake effect snow continuing through Saturday. Below zero wind chills are expected for most areas late tonight through Saturday. Wind gusts of 25-35+ mph will lead to patchy blowing/drifting snow, especially across open areas. Quickly dropping temps tonight may freeze wet roads by Saturday morning.
