One more from the city trails last night. I love this trail section of trail 8 that runs to and from Ashmun Bay where trail 8 begins in the Soo. You can see the International Brige lit up in red, white, and blue here. There is parking for trucks and trailers at the trailhead. Also, the Soo is a sled friendly city so you can take most City streets to get downtown to enjoy many restaurants and shops👍🏼

Good evening everyone! Holding steady at 30” of snow in the Soo currently with lake effect snow showers ongoing.
We do still have one machine down, and our schedule has been adjusted to make sure we can still cover all areas.
Here’s what I know-
❄️ Trail 8- Soo to Raco- excellent
❄️ City Trails - part of 49, 449, 497, and the I500 trail- excellent (being groomed as I type this)
❄️ Trail 49- Soo to Kinross- good. All water holes are packed and panned. May have some drifts in open areas.
❄️ Trail 49 south of M80 and the 494 loop- excellent
❄️ Trail 472 to 480 to the Raco gate- good - Go slow by the new bridge on 480 as there is stone there, that will be snow covered in time.
❄️ Trail 480 from the Spile Dam turnaround to the Raco Powerline ( trail 8 ) - excellent
❄️ Raco Powerline- excellent
❄️ Trail 889 The Mission Hill Loop- excellent

Things are so good around here that I actually have no significant updates to share LOL. A little snow here and there on top of an absolutely incredible base is making for the best riding in our area in years, honestly. Even with one machine still down, our operators have things in excellent shape!
We hope you’ll be able to be here next week for race week, and for the big race on Saturday, Feb 7th! We will have a booth in the brand new vendor pavilion, and we hope to see you there at the International 500 Snowmobile Race!! 🏁 ❄️🥶 #soo #soo0127 #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

Update!! 10:30 AM - The car is near the pavilion in the campground, close to the parking lot, and will be out shortly. Thank you to Merle’s Towing for your communication and helping her out!
🚨 Caution!! There is a car stuck on the trail behind Kewadin Casino. We are unsure of the exact location on the trail as of right now.
Merle’s Towing, who has always been so awesome to work with, is on the way, but please use caution.

Munising Area Trail Report – 01/07

TRAIL REPORT, Saturday, January 7, 2023 4:30 a.m.

VERY GOOD RIDING CONDITIONS!

We have groomed the entire system within the last 48 hours. Overall there is plenty of snow now to get out for some great riding. Get out and enjoy this late start to the season and keep the snow dancing going – we need more to keep it fresh.

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 01/07

Tonight we were able to get 99% of the trail groomed. There is only one short section by Little Lake that we can’t get into yet. We are working on a reroute through this section, just haven’t had the time to get it done yet and the pond takes a long time with very cold temps to freeze, which we have not had much of yet. There are the usual water spots that are still giving us troubles, some of the smaller ones filled in, but not the bigger ones. Pray for cold Temps and more snow so we can get these filled in. Please use caution from about 1 mile east and 1 mile west of the highway 41 tunnel where these water spots are at. Some can be hard to see until you are right on them. Overall, the trail is in great shape. Keep doing your snow dance, and add a few extra moves for some colder weather…. Ride right, have fun, and be safe out there.
