Snow, baby, snow! The Gaylord area received 10-12 inches of fluffy snow last week. Trails have been groomed and are in good condition. Groomers have been out regularly. Please remember that the groomers have a job to do – moving aside and letting them pass by at a safe distance is very appreciated. Be safe and have fun!

WOW!! That’s what i have to say about the snow from yesterday and last night. A good firm six to eight inches of the stuff we have been waiting for all winter. Many sleds out and about yesterday and even I got out with my brother and 2 other friends. We left Frederic last night about six and took the long route up to Starvation Lake where there were I would say 75 sleds in their lot. Had dinner there and made it back here to Sledheads about 9:30. A fantastic 57 mile ride. Several spots we were the first ones down the freshly groomed trail which was a nice feeling. I have seen a couple sleds this morning so far. I have been plowing since 6:30 and am pretty well caught up on that. I might just have to take another ride today. Pics below are from the gas station last night as my riding partners were filling up. Sure feels good to have real snow. The Darkside Adventures guys finished their ride up yesteray. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Frosty and crunchy at 4 degrees on friday morning in Frederic, I saw the groomer heading out on 47 trail by the high school and 2 sleds right at that corner too. Already been several sleds in this morning and I made an early trip to the Sled Shed to get me some carbides for my ski doo. Those carbides have been on back order all season and I got the last set of 6 inch from Sled Shed. I wanted to make sure I get to ride again. I am happy to say that several riders told me that all trails they were on were well groomed. That is good to hear. The OSSA group were in here yesterday afternoon and they are staying up in Gaylord this year and at least we have great snow this year. Thanks Gary Hines for stopping in with everyone. Already sold the 4 pair of Gauntlets that I had this morning. My frederic-mi.com site is messed up again and Rebecca is on that. I was bummed to see the guys that were winter camping in my back lot left last night. I thought they were staying thru the weekend. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos

FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> been trying to get onto my frederic page and cant do it, its now 4 on thursday, rode yesterday to gaylord, then vienna corners back to lovells and then frederic for a great 80 miles. Had loader here again today, sleds downtown grayling at the restaurant, winter campers in back yard of sledheads, yummy burger at vienna loader really stacked it up this time. hope to get my other page going again, dont know wha the deal is, lots of wind and white outs today, supposed to get colder tommorow. OSSA crew from Ohio State Snowmobile Association were and on their annual ride based out of Gaylord this year. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos

Started out riding to Frederic from home and then to Starvation Lake, Alba, Jordan Valley Trail, D & K formally Larrys in Elmira, up the Chandler HIlls trail until I lost the trail right at dark, then a little ditch banging as after i lost the trail I started south and east as I knew I would hit the highway. Came out by Vanderbilt and theh hit the 7 trail back to Gaylord, Waters and Frederic…..Perfect day of riding. Met up with Big John and Speed Bump for Spike burgers about 9 last night.I might go again this afternoon as I am thinking about a burger at Talleys. Supposed to get cold this weekend.
