Wednesday evening update – Come ride! Trails are in pretty good shape. The entire system was groomed today, so there are 122 miles of beautiful trails to ride. South of White Cloud is getting thin, but still rideable.

When is the last time you staged at our far western point at the Timber Creek Campground? Trail 325 is one of the best on our northern system. Go West on US-10 and the campground is on the north side of the road before you get to Custer. Great access to points north. The Photo below is from that trail.

If you are coming from Grand Rapids, remember we have a few options for you to park your truck and ride into the area. Just north of Newaygo is the county Sports Park on the West side of M-37. A LARGE parking area and it is home to our southern groomer. You can also park at the M-20 staging area on M-20 just West of M-37. If you are coming up on US 131, just West of the off ramp in Reed City, there is a Park and Ride lot with trail access. Enjoy Trail 30 (RR Grade) into Reed City to the East and Baldwin to the West. Why spend time in your truck when you could be riding?

We hope to see many of you at our open house this Saturday and our meeting on Saturday evening. You do not need to be a member to attend. Come and say hello and learn more about what Trailriders does for you!

Traverse City Trail Report – Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 01/30 – UPDATED

UPDATE: Because of the warm temps and nothing forecasted below freezing we are not running the groomers tonight, as more harm would be done than good.

Cold and snow will resume on Monday, and we will be back up and running then hopefully. Until then, there is some great riding to be had! Get out and enjoy!

We have picked up about 8′ throughout the week, and we have a great base built. Tomorrow is supposed to be cold, and the groomers will be running in the evening. With the cold temps the trails should set up great! However warm weather around 40 is expected Saturday through Tuesday. If it gets below freezing in the evenings we will continue grooming. As of now riding is good to excellent, and groomers will run tomorrow . We will watch the temps and groom as we can Saturday through Tuesday. Get out and enjoy!!

Remember, all of our groomer drivers are volunteers, and most of them are snowmobilers giving up some riding time to groom so that you have groomed trails to ride on, so if you get a chance tell them thank you or a thumbs up, it means alot to them to know they are appreciated. Make sure to pick up one of our trail maps, we have some out on the trails in mailboxes at some map board locations and at our map sponsors. Support our sponsors and when you visit one of them tell them thank you for supporting GTASC

Ride safe and ride sober!! Remember to watch for groomers you never know when one will be coming around a corner or over a hill. Also remember that the signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the safety of snowmobilers, so please don’t remove them. If you have any questions about grooming or comments about the trails good or bad we would like to hear from you. Please feel FREE TO contact us at gtascsnow@gmail.com
