Munising Area Trail Report – 02/11

Grooming Report 2:30 Thursday

We received about a foot of great packing snow.

Trail 419 from Trail 8 to about 3 miles north on Munsing is Good with some tight turn moguls. The remainder of 419 to Christmas and Hillside is excellent. Trail 7 from Christmas for about 3 miles is fair to good then good to trail 8.

Trail 8 and 7/8 and 7 south are great to excellent. Our Deere Operator had fun recently grooming Trail 422 to Miners Castle, said Trail 422 is in great shape and he called Mars.
We are still getting bands of snow so trails should continue to improve.

Another big storm front forecast to come in Friday through Saturday.

Munising Trail Report. We have approximately 1 foot of snow on the ground more in some spots and little less in others. FORECAST CALLS FOR LAKE EFFECT SNOW 6-10 INCHES BY TOMORROW!!! We have accumulated roughly 4-6 since last night. We are predicted to continue to have low temps for the next few days. Grooming is underway and all trails are being groomed. Trails are in fair to good condition and if we get all this snow then condition will be excellent…..

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/11

I think its gonna be a busy weekend just from the amount of sleds that have been in here so far today. Been pretty hectic. Its now 1 and I am just getting to sit down to write this. Trail conditions have been reported as excellent all around and the Grayling Groomer just went by a little bit ago. I went riding yesterday with Ohio Brian and Starvation Lake Bruce and we had a fantastic ride, rode 679 to 79 to starvation lake to alba, in alba we turned around because 131 north towards Jordan valley was not touched and very rough, so we went back towards starvation lake and down 79 the other side to the m 72 parking lot and on to Dingmans for lunch. Left there and rode back to Frederic, after a fantastic 90 mile loop. I wish I was out there today. Temps are supposed to be cold for the weekend and the weather forcast is calling for snow thru all next week. I like that and hope that it really comes true…..
