TRAIL REPORT – Thursday, 03-04-2021 FAIR TO BORDER-LINE GOOD TRAIL CONDITIONS! Groomer Operators reporting fair results with no new snow. Some snow harvesting was done along Trail 8 where we could. With that most of our Trail System is in Overall Fair to almost Good condition with some outlying areas in poor condition. Trail 8 from Shingleton West to Trail 417 is our best stretch of trail. Trail 417 to Brownstone Intersection and Trail 7 from 2 miles South of Christmas South to Buckhorn Road and Trail 418 are in Fair condition and a bit choppy. Trail 8 from Shingleton North for about 5 miles, Trail 7 South of Doe Lake Road and Trail 419 from Wetmore to about 2 miles Northwest of Munising are in poor condition. In the towns and along highways you will be finding dirty snow and bare spots. Seney has one of their groomers back up and running so we have one last grooming run planned for them tonight. This is again East for 14 miles on Trail 8 from the Bear Trap intersection to the Trail 43 intersection. Day-by-Day changes this time of year so Keep snow dancing, get out and ENJOY what is left of the Trails, Ride Safe and Stay Tuned for updates!

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails - Let's start with the good news. We are not done grooming yet. We will still be making a short run from Rumley to 417 on the east end. The snow is sugary, but still there for the most part. It will be getting worse at temps and the sun keep eating it. We will be adjusting our grooming accordingly. And for the bad news.... The pictures speak for themselves. From Rumley west, the trail is a mess. It is passable for now, but it won't last without fresh snow. So from Munising, access to Chatham is ok for now. Access down to Rumley is poor but rideable. West of Rumley to Little Lake is not recommended as temps rise this week. From Gwinn, the trail is poor but rideable to Little Lake. Not the greatest news, but not the end... Yet... Stay safe and ride right! ... #munising #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA - TRAIL REPORT - Sunday, 03-07-2021 FAIR TRAILS HANGING ON! No significant Changes. Groomer Operators reporting fair results with no new snow. We have a very hard light chop base with sugary snow and some icy corners. Most of our Trail System is in Overall Fair condition getting icy in sections under the soft snow and some outlying areas in poor condition. Trails give a deceiving look after grooming as we are only knocking the tops off of the small rock hard moguls. The ribbon left behind is blowing out after a few dozens sleds pass through getting back to a light chop. Trail 8 from Shingleton West to Trail 417 is a bit choppy in areas but fairly flat. Trail 417 to Brownstone Intersection and Trail 7 from 2 miles South of Christmas South to Buckhorn Road and Trail 418 are in Fair condition and a bit choppy. Trail 7 South of Doe Lake Road and Trail 419 from Wetmore to about 2 miles Northwest of Munising are in poor condition. In the towns and along highways you will be finding dirty snow and bare spots. Trail 8 North of Shingleton is fairly flat with some chop for 7 miles North of Shingleton. This section is listed as Poor due to being very thin for the first 4 miles heading North with a few bare patches and bare or icy corners. Unless we get a significant surprise snowfall the season is winding down. Day-by-Day changes this time of year so Keep snow dancing, get out and ENJOY what is left of the Trails, Ride Safe and Stay Tuned for updates! MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 03/03

TRAIL REPORT – Wednesday, 03-03-2021 FAIR TRAIL CONDITIONS!
We had a limited grooming attempt last night with operators reporting fair results with no new snow, trails set rock hard and mostly un-workable. With that our most of our Trail System is in Overall Fair Condition with some areas poor condition. Machines can only get the tops cut off the rock hard moguls and snow is soft and not setting so trails remain choppy in areas. Trail 8 from Shingleton West to Trail 417, Trail 417 to Brownstone Intersection and Trail 7 from 2 miles South of Christmas South to Buckhorn Road are in Fair condition and a bit choppy. Trail 8 from Shingleton North for about 5 miles, Trail 7 South of Doe Lake Road and Trail 419 from Wetmore to about 2 miles Northwest of Munising are in poor condition. In the towns and along highways you will be finding dirty snow and bare spots. We continue grooming East for Seney on Trail 8 from the Bear Trap intersection to the Trail 43 intersection with fair results improving with more snow as you head East. Day-by-Day changes this time of year so Keep snow dancing, get out and ENJOY what is left of the Trails, Ride Safe and Stay Tuned for updates!
