TRAILS ARE SHAPING UP.
The forecast calls for more and more snow. Today was a good day for riding. We left on our Thursday tour south on trail 5. We were the first sleds out on freshly groomed trails from Muncie Lake road all the way to the Manistee Bridge. The trails have a good solid base and there was very little ‘snirt’ on the trail. Groomers have been out getting things ready for the season. We are expecting a busy holiday season on the trails so make sure to use extra caution when riding through the holidays.

Snowfall to date: 46" with 29" on the ground…more in some places-less in others. Groomers are out doing their thing -be it panning, panking, rolling or grooming when and where possible.
GOGEBIC RANGE TRAIL AUTHORITY Trails 2&8 are being groomed – conditions are early season riding. Trail 2 from Ironwood to Marenisco is shaping up but it’s still early. Expect rocks and wet areas. Trail 8 from Wakefield to Tula is poor to fair condition, watch for wet spots and trucks working on the power lines in the Tula area. Trail 11N is closed due to wet conditions, swamps are not frozen. Trail 160 remains closed as well as 11S – they will be groomed when the wet areas firm up-
GOGEBIC AREA GROOMERS Lake Gogebic groomers are out trying to get the trails in shape and to firm up…lots of wet areas- reporting early riding conditions-mostly poor but a little better on the northern trails.
U.P. THUNDER RIDERS OF WATERSMEET are going out— they received about 10" of snow so have enough to pan and roll the
trails. Watch for logging trucks on Bond Falls road. Expect early riding conditions.
