Newberry Trail Report – 01/28

5″ of snow on the ground this AM and cold. Temps rising into the 30’s for a couple of days. What great riding weather. The trees are snow covered, and the scenery is beautiful on the trail.

Trail #9 is reported in Execellent condition, about 16″ in town and more as you go North. Todd groomed Tuesday afternoon and saw about 250 sleds. On the return trip Ben only saw 35 sleds and the trail has had time to set up nicely. There is a LOT of snow out toward Pine Stump.

Trail #45 is plowed from Skyline Road to the north 3 miles for logging. This area is very icy with large dips please be careful. The trail is in Excellent condition other than that. Lou said we can now measure the snow in feet instead of inches.

Trail #9/2 to Epoufette/ Trout Lake is in very good condition, as they did get about 8″ of snow. The trail to Epoufette is in very good condition. The trail #473 to Trout Lake was groomed yesterday, and the snow is thin along the railroad tracks from Caffey corner, the trail is in god condition.

Traverse City Trail Report – Blue Sky Snowmobile Rentals – 01/27

Another winter weekend is here and gone. We had a ton of traffic on the Boardman Valley trails this weekend. We had plenty of snow to get some good riding in. The staging spur near Peegeo’s is getting a bit dirty, along with the busy areas heading into Fife lake as well.

Blue Sky Snowmobile Rentals – January 24

The snowbanks are piled high at Blue Sky Rentals in the back parking lot at Peegeo’s.

The trails held up pretty good and are still in fair to good shape. We are expecting some mild temps again tomorrow and tuesday with more snow to follow. We can only hope the temps don’t climb to high and the mix they are calling for turns into some good snow.

I would like to make mention that our second location at Shanty Creek Resort has much more snow currently and the trails in that area are in great shape. We have a bunch of rental sleds available for the upcoming week and weekend. Check out our site for rates www.bluesky-tvc.com or call for availability.
