The snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open. Thegroomers are out and the trails are in very good condition. Remember to watch out for the groomers and deer when you’re out on the trails…..they have the right of way!!

There is some logging on 122 and a portion of the trail will be closed. There is a re-route that is all signed.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, please, drive safely. The signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the riders’ safety. Please, DO NOT remove or destroy these signs.

Please be aware that if you snowmobile on U.S. Coast Guard property you could face federal trespass charges.

Snowfall & Weather Report:
Houghton county – 53 inches on the ground, 190.75 inches fallen to date as of 3/21/13.
Keweenaw county – 47 inches on the ground, 251 inches fallen to date as of 3/21/13.

Grand Traverse Snowmobile Club – 03/25

Rode 75 miles yesterday and had one of the best rides of the season. Temps have been staying below freezing in the evenings allowing the groomers to get out. They will be out tonight, so get out there and get that last ride in!

We will continue to groom this week if snow conditions stay good and temps don’t get to warm. The day time temps are forecasted to be in the high 30’s and 40’s with lows in the 20’s. If we stop grooming we’ll let you know on here. REMEMBER THE GROOMERS WILL STOP RUNNING APRIL 1ST, AND THE TRAILS WILL CLOSE. IF APRIL 1ST AND AFTER YOU ARE RIDING THE TRAIL THAT’S ON PRIVATE PROPERTY YOU ARE TRESPASSING, YOU COULD GET A TICKET AND THE LANDOWNER COULD DECIDE NOT TO LET US USE HIS PROPERTY ANYMORE.
