Grand Marais Trail Report – 03/11

I know everyone is wondering about the trails with this Spring weather arriving so suddenly. The groomers had to stay in last night because it was way too warm. Jack went out this morning to check the trails and reports they are in good shape. Some riders came in from Munising and said our outlying trails were in great shape. Seems the one day of 50’s didn’t really hurt them. They got soft on top but froze back down over night. Once we get out there tonight, they should set up real good to make it through the next phase of warm temps this weekend. Trails in the woods should stay real nice, in the open areas you’re bound to find bare pavement or standing water. It’s Spring riding conditions so be prepared…shirt-sleeves and jacket weather.

FYI: The Spring Open House scheduled for March 21 has been canceled due to the warming trend.

Sledheads of Frederic – 03/11

It’s gonna be another warm one as the snow continues to leave us. I did hear one sled blasting thru Frederic yesterday as I sat here in my office and later on in the day there were 2 sleds over at the Swamp and at the same time there were 2 more over in front of the Frederic Inn.
