Ontonagon Trail Report – 03/29
ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Hamilton’s North Coast Adventures – 03/29
Well, we didn’t see or hear any riders around the shop with all the fresh snow we just got, so we had to go out and investigate! As of this morning there is a general 1-2.5′ down, more in traditional west wind snowbelt zones. Like da porkies! There is 1.5-2.5′ of snow on South Boundary Road yet and its only seen 2 sleds! Zero tracks on 102 (hopefully no one beats me to that today!) We parked at the visitor center sign on SBR. Lake of the Clouds was plowed, not recommended.
Our cottage rental is open. Free guide if you stay with us! SBR is a great 30+ mile option to get out and ride. Lakes are not safe, rivers are not safe. Ride smart and have fun!! Www.hamiltonsnorthcoast.com

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Temperatures turn warmer today compared to the last couple of days with highs generally ranging in the 40s under sunny skies. Temperatures should stay in the 30s closer to the Superior shoreline. These pleasant conditions will be short-lived though as another round of snow moves in tonight through Saturday along with cooler temperatures. There is a chance for some pockets of freezing rain along the WI/MI border. Snow comes to an end Saturday evening, but clouds hang on for Sunday. Expect total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Use caution if driving, slippery roads possible late tonight through Saturday morning. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaTemperatures turn warmer today compared to the last couple of days with highs generally ranging in the 40s under sunny skies. LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Yes, we have received quite a bit of snow over the past week. Will the groomers be going out? No. There's a lot of slush and running water hidden under all this fresh. With the official end of season coming this Sunday and having only a few segments that are hard pack road grade it's not worth us taking the risk of costing our club more money by getting stuck or whatever else could possibly happen with a few runs. If you choose to ride, ride with extreme caution and be aware a hazard could be around any corner. Also be aware that Mi has closed 13n from Bergland to Rockland. #lakegogebic #westernup ... IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority - ORV & Snowmobile Club >> Monday March 25th 2024 Snow report:
Our trail system did receive some wet heavy snow but unfortunately it's just a little to late in the season to get everything set and rideable. GRTA sadly will not be panning or grooming our system due to impassable swamps and forecasted weather. Hopefully the snow finds us next year and we will back to seeing you on the trails! We will continue to post club events and updates here during the coming months so stay tuned. #ironwood #westernup ... See MoreSee Less
