The Gogebic Area Grooming trail report

Overall conditions are good to very good.

We had a lot of traffic this past weekend but our groomers are out repairing the damage. We gotten 5 inches of new snow and are expecting more on Tuesday. One of the drivers reported that the snow was pretty thin on the southern most trails 13 south and 1 south. The north end of the lake northward has plenty of snow. There is a portion of trail 8 east near Ewen that is a bit bare due to salt getting dragged onto the trail from nearby roadway.

As previously posted, please stay on the trails in Bergland. You are not allowed to ride the hwy. through town and may be ticketed.

Groomer Report

Trails and weather are looking good! We did have a lot of traffic over this last weekend but groomers are all out repairing the damage. We’ve received about 5 inches of new snow since this morning and more is expected through the day and into Monday with a big storm still in the forecast for Tuesday! It’s all good!! I’m not sure, yet, how much snow has made it down to our southern most trails (13 south & 1 south). One of our drivers reported yesterday that the snow was pretty thin from about the south end of the lake southward. The snow belt at the north end of the lake northward has plenty of snow. Although there is a portion of trail 8 east near Ewen that is a bit bare due to salt getting dragged onto the trail from a nearby roadway.

As previously posted, please stay on the trails in Bergland. You are not allowed to ride the highway through town and may be ticketed. You can only access the gas station by following the trail through the park and crossing directly across from the gas station from Antonio’s Restaurant. If riding the roads through Merriweather (down to the Hoop ‘N Holler Tavern or to the lake) please remember to ride at the posted speed limit of 25 mph and stay to the side of the roadway, and, as always be aware that this is a residential area and watch for traffic.
