SENEY AREA UPDATE via Mater’s Stop -N- Go Gas Station – 12/11

So we got a little snow, and by little, I mean just enough to make everything look pretty. Storms are brewing, because why not? It’s freezing, but I’m not complaining. That snow base is looking good, and everything is nice and icy underneath. I’m thinking it’s going to be a sweet weekend for riding. I’ll keep you posted with pics throughout the week and weekend.

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Okay, remember how we mentioned sneaky snow this weekend? Well, it started yesterday, and will continue today at times, but fill in greater as lake effect by Sunday.
Here on February 21st, 2026, most of the snow and freezing rain will continue across the western UP and northwestern LP. We will see a shift to more snow into central and southern Michigan by late this evening. Then on Sunday, snow should be on-and-off across the entire state, with an uptick in typical lake effect zones such as the spine of the western UP, and the entire Lake Michigan shoreline. Lake effect bands are very finicky, and are subject to microclimate wind shifts. It's very possible that a few locations in our 1-3" zone see 4-5" by the end of the day on Sunday. We will be monitoring radar for a dominant lake effect band that stretches across the peninsula. The increase of wind on Sunday morning may also reduce visibility on all roadways to under half a mile, so travel only as fast as conditions allow.
Bottom line, plan for some more of that "annoyance" snow. Not enough to be called a big storm, but enough to cover all side roads, and many of our main roads. Accumulation will be higher during the overnight hours when surface temperatures are NOT at or above 32°F for most of the state. This also means our chances at freezing drizzle are higher during the daylight hours. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyOkay, remember how we mentioned sneaky snow this weekend? Seney Trail Report – 12/09

SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association – 12/09

Just a quick update on the trails. Trail 8 is in good shape. There’s still a small water hole up there but it’s a lot less than it was. With the cool down coming next few days that should help out a lot. The rest of the trails are in good shape still. The warm up didn’t hurt us to bad. The swamps and lakes aren’t frozen yet so don’t go on them. Trail 431 north out of Seney is not frozen yet so don’t use that trail until you get up to the split by the park and ride. Just ride trail 440 along M-77 for now. Ok now for a little bad news the New Holland blew a bearing Sunday. Good news is it’s getting picked up tomorrow morning and getting hauled down to get fixed so hope it won’t be gone too long. We’ll do our best to keep the trails in great shape for everyone. Should have great snow for the weekend so if you’re planing on coming up you won’t be disappointed.
