Still waiting on snow, a nice chilly 7 degrees overnight and gonna be sunny today. Several riders told me yesterday that riding was way better than they expected along with a few groomer sightings. With the cold overnight maybe things froze up hard and made it a no lube situation. I dont know for sure but in my opinion its still hard and icy but I havent actually been on them to know for sure. All I do know is the people I talked to yesterday were very happy.

This will be the third weekend in a row with just about the same conditions as the past 2 weekends so my guess is there will be sleds out but still not like MLK weekend….so its kind of blah, blah, blah, everyday the same story…….

I have had several people ask about the mountain man and I keep forgetting to write about him. He was by a couple months ago for the first time in several months and then lo and behold he shows up here this morning. When he walked in the air quality suddenly goes down. He is still camped out and I have to say he is a tough dude. I took a couple pics of him this morning but dont be scared as he is a nice guy but he defintely makes you think when you see him. He was talking about the mountain lion he traced in the snow. Thats it for today. Thanks for checking in. Pete

WTF= Wheres the flakes? Certainly nothing new in the air or on the ground, the system snow that they were talking about for today a few days ago seems to have dissapeared and looks like snow is gonna be in the south end of the state. Weather is calling for slight snows for thursday thru tuesday…….and it sure didnt seem like that would amount to much. Never had one person come in here yesterday but at least today I am up a hundred percent as a couple from Mt Pleasant that has a place up at blue lake stopped in to say hi. A few inches would get people a bit more excited. Unfortunatley I am reminded of my first season here in 97 when I actually closed up valentines weekend and went to the u.p. to ride cause there was zero snow here. While we still are all white (I hope thats politcally correct) I have seen a couple sleds ride thru this morning. Trail along m 93 by camp grayling looked pretty good still this morning. Trail 47 north by the high school was snirty looking and 7 crossing west north of high school was snirty but east looked good. So I guess that means you have to take the good with the bad. The 2 pics below I just took outside as I didnt get any other pics yesterday.
