Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/06
Still waiting on snow, a nice chilly 7 degrees overnight and gonna be sunny today. Several riders told me yesterday that riding was way better than they expected along with a few groomer sightings. With the cold overnight maybe things froze up hard and made it a no lube situation. I dont know for sure but in my opinion its still hard and icy but I havent actually been on them to know for sure. All I do know is the people I talked to yesterday were very happy. This will be the third weekend in a row with just about the same conditions as the past 2 weekends so my guess is there will be sleds out but still not like MLK weekend….so its kind of blah, blah, blah, everyday the same story……. I have had several people ask about the mountain man and I keep forgetting to write about him. He was by a couple months ago for the first time in several months and then lo and behold he shows up here this morning. When he walked in the air quality suddenly goes down. He is still camped out and I have to say he is a tough dude. I took a couple pics of him this morning but dont be scared as he is a nice guy but he defintely makes you think when you see him. He was talking about the mountain lion he traced in the snow. Thats it for today. Thanks for checking in.
