Ironwood Trail Report – Gogebic Range Trail Authority – 03/23

160 water hazards and there are 3 stretches of road to run that will be tough if you can’t ride up on the banks. It was cold yesterday and most hazards froze up hard last night. But today they will all break open and really start flowing. Safest rides would be trailering to Wakefield (ski hill reroute road routes are brutal) and riding to Marenisco. The northern end of the trail is gorgeous!!! Ride slowly today conditions will change quickly. Remember Iron county is closed and Vilas County closes tonight at midnight. WHAT A SEASON, THANK YOU GRTA VOLUNTEER GROOMER OPERATORS!!

Ironwood Trail Report – Gogebic Range Trail Authority – 03/22

If you want to ride this weekend we suggest riding from Ironwood North out trail 160 and back. NOTE Wi trail #3 to Driftwood is closed, no connector back to Hurley. Second suggestion is to unload at the "giant snowman" park and ride in Wakefield riding trail 2 to Marenisco. No grooming occurred since Sunday, but trails remain flat due to light traffic. Pictures are of trail 2 east of Wakefield, there is 1.75mi of plowed trail due to logging. Either side of that section is rated good to very good. We are heading out grooming this afternoon!! Be aware for rapidly changing conditions and water hazards. Ride slow!!! This hazards come up quick!! The pics from our club member said they took trail 1 north and trail 8 back west to their unload spot saying "all was good."
