Ontonagon Trail Report – 01/16

Trail Update:

18 hours each the last two days for two machines/operators filling water holes and building ice bridges. A big thanks to Greg and Mac!

Went into all the bottoms on Trail #12 along LP Walsh Road and filled all the water holes. The trail is in fair condition at best. Stay on the trail in all the bottoms! There is open water on both sides of most. We will continue too work this section, but need more snow to get it to the condition you are acostomed to.

Did the best we could with little snow on Trail #1 along Lake Superior. Filled water holes, repaired and opened the bridge closed by the DNR, and knocked down all the moguls on the last 3/8 of a mile section to Lake of the Clouds.

Built a couple ice bridges and groomed the 3 areas that we were going around on Trail #1 between White Pine and Silver City.

It’ll take more snow and cold but these areas are in much better condition.

Ride da 906!

Ontonagon Trail Report – 01/14

Trail Update:

We apologize for the lack of info Saturday and Sunday. We had meetings out of town and the info didn’t get posted.

The good news is we have all 3 machines running again!

With traffic being lighter in the beginning of the week we will focus on repairing Trail #12 along LP Walsh Road, Trail #1 between White Pine & Silver City and between Silver City and The Porkies Ski Hill.

We groomed:

Trail #137 which is in very good condition.

Trail #13 from Rockland to Trail #101 which is in good condition..

Trail #101 from Trail #13 to the intersection with Trail #12 and it’s in very good condition.

Thanks for being here, pray for more snow and as always, ride da 906!!
