The weatherman has updated forecast for the weekend to 8-14 inches of snow. A wintery mix so who know what that means on the ground. Still lots of snow in woods west of Brimley.

If you are going on some end of season riding, remember we have not groomed trails in two weeks. There were lots of bare spots in trail before all this fresh snow. The snow that was left is very icy. Don’t be the one that wraps your sled around a tree on the last ride of season. Or your last ride forever! Also road shoulders are bare so please don’t tick off landowners by riding off the trail on private property. Let’s not lose a trail do to late season riding. Just because it is covered in snow doesn’t mean it’s open to sleds, know before you go.

April 4, 2018
Well we finally got some snow out of the storm last night. In town only got a couple inches but west and south of town got 5-7 inches. And it’s not wet packs stuff more fluffy. Temp is 17 this morning.
Groomers are not running but should be some ok riding on forest roads and our northern trails. Our leases do not expire on April 1 so all gates are open and able to ride all our trails.
Trail #8 going west of Brimley is the only trail left. The groomers are parked for the season. Trails officially close April 1 but there will be snow on forest roads long after that. We will leave gates open until trail is unrideable.
We have a new plowed parking area at the beginning of trail #8 under the International Bridge, which now has an all season porta John. Make sure you lock your vehicles and trailers.
If you are staying in the Sault please look at our list of supporters on our web page and give them your business. Please do that in all towns you visit. The grooming entities are all made up of volunteers who want you to support those who support us!!!!!!
Remember trail base is the amount of snow between your track and the ground below not the amount of fluff piled up in the woods. 10 inches of snow compresses to less then a inch on the trail.
