TRAIL REPORT February 19, 2022

GREAT TRAILS with BLIZZARD CONDITIONS!

Heavy Lake Effect snow with high winds will have drifting on the trails which are in an overall very good condition. Groomer operators were again reporting great results finishing out their runs in blizzard conditions. This is typically the busiest weekend of the season so trails may get choppy in some areas throughout the day. Be sure to stop by the groomer building today (Saturday noon to 5pm) in Shingleton for our open house. Warm up with Free food and refreshments and see what’s behind the scenes of grooming trails. The U.P. 200 Sled Dog Race is in progress so please see general warning below for details. Get out and enjoy some really nice riding conditions. Keep doing the Cold Weather Snow Dancing and Stay Tuned for updates!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails –

Our operator reported great conditions last night other than some low visibility in our wind prone areas. High traffic is making the trails rough later in the day and blowing out the corners. Throttle control is always an issue in corners and that is something that will always be an issue that groomers have to deal with. This is historically a high traffic weekend, so please be aware of other riders. Ride right and ride safe!

Munising Area Trail Report – 02/18

TRAIL REPORT, February 18, 2022
GREAT TRAILS with STORM COMING!

Light new snow and a hard flat base still have the trail system in an overall very good condition. Groomer operators were again reporting great results. Forecast has a blizzard coming through tonight so watch for possible trees down Saturday. This is typically the busiest weekend of the season so trails may get choppy in some areas throughout the day. We are still anxiously waiting for our Big Deere to return so we can get back to some serious grooming. For now the smaller Bully setup is making due on the West side but its been a struggle meeting our high grooming standards. This Saturday be sure to stop by the groomer building in Shingleton for our open house. Warm up with Free food and refreshments and see what’s behind the scenes of grooming trails – noon to 5 pm Saturday. Get out and enjoy some really nice riding conditions. Keep doing the Cold Weather Snow Dancing and Stay Tuned for updates!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails –

Todd went out tonight on his second grooming run. Trails are holding up really well with lower than expected traffic. That will change this weekend as it always does. We are all lined up for a full weekend of grooming! Be aware of the sled dog races this weekend and be respectful of them as they use sections of snowmobile trail around the central UP. Ride right and ride safe!
