MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 2/15
Two pictures from the tunnel on US 41 show the good(ish) and the bad. Water standing in the trail and a base that is still holding strong. Going to assess the trail tomorrow after letting the cold and a little snow hopefully work to our advantage, and make a plan for recovery. The operators haven’t lost faith yet and neither should you!

TRAIL REPORT, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 8:00 a.m.
VERY WET CONDITIONS!
Dang, mid 40’s yesterday with almost a half inch of rain falling through the night and still coming down. Overall trails are in a fair condition. Watch for flooding and standing water through the whole trail system, especially Trail 418. From just East of AuTrain West to Trail 417 South the base is gone and gravely. We will be watching closely as rain changes to snow and temperatures fall.
Grooming will start as soon as possible with what is left and hopefully clean up this mess. Keep a close eye on trail conditions as you ride and stay right. Stay tuned for updates! (picture with standing water is from early yesterday morning)

Well with the lovely rain we got overnight, things are not looking very good. Grooming is on hold to let everything freeze back up. Anywhere that holds water, will need time to freeze back up before we run over it with a heavy groomer. We are hoping to try grooming again tomorrow night. Then we will have more to tell you all. Wish we had something better to report. Ride right, ride safe.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> After light snow wraps up this evening, expect partially clearing skies overnight while temperatures fall back mainly into the 20s. After warm and dry days Sunday and Monday, incoming rainfall is expected by late Monday afternoon. High temperatures will top off in the 40s and 50s by Sunday and Monday. MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> Short run today to make sure our east end is smooth and conditions couldn’t be better. Possibly making one more full run before the end of season to make sure we are right on track to finish the season out. Reports have been coming in that the trail is pretty smooth. Grooming will end, but the entire trail will be open through the 31st. Private land closes across the state on the 1st of April, so feel free to keep riding, but please respect private property as land use permits do not allow clubs to keep the trail open. Ride right and ride safe! #munising #snowphotos

Michigan is going to showcase all seasons for today, March 26th, 2026. If you're heading north of M-55, a wintry mix will greet you. Snow totals of an inch, perhaps more will be possible, and a snow map will be out in a bit to showcase totals on a statewide basis. Meanwhile, summer is here temporarily as showers and storms move in by late afternoon south of Grand Rapids and Flint. High temperatures will be in the 60s, and even low-70s, especially south of I-94. More warmth means more fuel for storms though, so on a day like today, you should be rooting against warmer high temperatures to avoid severe weather. Speaking of temperatures, just an insane gradient from north to south. High temperatures in the low-20s for the Keweenaw Peninsula, while areas just south of the Michigan state line jump to near 80°F. Precipitation will start early up north, while southern Michigan doesn't start seeing shower activity until afternoon. More details to come in a bit on our severe weather, but the peak timing along and south of I-94 for severe weather will be after 3 pm EDT. Main severe weather hazard today will be very large hail, so it's probably a good idea to protect your valuables today if you're in the southern two rows of counties, just out of an abundance of caution.
