Temps have steadily fallen all day. Currently its is about 20 degrees with a wind chill of 10. Groomer is out headed north to Holland Lake. Be cautious if you do ride as water holes may opened back up and other hazards could be exposed from melting snow. Be safe and ride right..

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Pine Stump – 2/14
Well here’s my speech for the day since everyone keeps asking Yeah it got warm for a couple days
Yes it rained over night
The snow isn’t all gone
I don’t have time to ride the trails so I can’t answer how they are
We had a hell of a base this way and good snow before this Here’s 2 pictures one from Sunday and one from today I don’t see a huge difference after the rain out front. It’s going to be like riding in mid March. Towns are probably bad. Things are probably better up this way
It’s going to cool down tonight and this stuff will be hard. If it’s cold Groomers will go out
If you like banging a couple hundred miles a day or more you probably won’t like it
If you want to go pick around and explore you will probably be ok All I can show is these two pictures and you can be the judge. It’s not the trail but it will show how much we lost in general We have parking out back for those who want to go riding and avoid town
If everyone gets scared and don’t come I’ll take advantage of it and go for a ride 🙂
I just told a guy worse case there are many things you could do if you don’t like the sledding. I can recommend some nice places and businesses to Visit if you come up this weekend 🙂 <>
NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 2/15
Due to the warm temps and rain we will not be out grooming until further notice. We did not loose all of our snow and temps are suppose to fall all day and through tomorrow. If you would like to come up and ride then we suggest trailering north. Be cautious if you do ride as water holes may opened backup and other hazards could be exposed from melting snow. Plowed dirt roads are ice covered and very slick. As soon as we have more details on trial conditions we will let everyone know. In the mean time start dancing.

FROM Great Lakes Weather & Climate >> 📡 Statewide radar loop through 10 AM today (11/9) shows our two distinct snowmakers in progress. The first one is the synoptic (aka "system") snow associated with a low that is moving east through southern Ohio. The counterclockwise flow around the low is shown over Metro Detroit as moisture interacts with decreasing temps, leading to this morning's snowfall. Over the U.P. and Lake Michigan, the north winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season, which activates lake effect snow and transitions to the second portion of this snow event. Counties in the corner of southwest lower Michigan, northern Indiana and Illinois are set to receive a firehose of lake effect over the next 24-36 hrs, resulting in accumulations that could push one foot. Portions of northern lower Michigan and the Saginaw Bay region are also set to receive lake effect snowfall through this evening, with amounts of 3-6 inches possible, with isolated higher amounts. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #newberry #soo #gaylord#cadillac#traversecity#petoskey...
