NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Pine Stump – 03/02
Well the sun and warm yesterday killed the trails
People said how horrible things were and they said they stuck to trails only
I asked the people who rode the seasonals how they were and they said fine
So here’s the deal. If you want trail only it’s done. If you want to ride a few miles and don’t mind getting on the seasonals you have a chance today
Barring a storm this looks like the end
People kee asking about driving their cars to the two hearted and places. I think that’s not a great option yet. Maybe in a week all the snow will be gone but who knows
When are you coming to ride with the side by sides? Slush run?

FROM Great Lakes Weather & Climate >> 📡 Statewide radar loop through 10 AM today (11/9) shows our two distinct snowmakers in progress.
The first one is the synoptic (aka "system") snow associated with a low that is moving east through southern Ohio. The counterclockwise flow around the low is shown over Metro Detroit as moisture interacts with decreasing temps, leading to this morning's snowfall.
Over the U.P. and Lake Michigan, the north winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season, which activates lake effect snow and transitions to the second portion of this snow event. Counties in the corner of southwest lower Michigan, northern Indiana and Illinois are set to receive a firehose of lake effect over the next 24-36 hrs, resulting in accumulations that could push one foot.
Portions of northern lower Michigan and the Saginaw Bay region are also set to receive lake effect snowfall through this evening, with amounts of 3-6 inches possible, with isolated higher amounts. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #newberry #soo #gaylord #cadillac #traversecity #petoskey

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> So we closed the gates today around town and on charcoal grade we also opened up the water way crossing the grade the falls gate and out to 3 mile on Trail 9 and also the ones on the south trail around town are closed sad day We truly appreciate each and everyone of you for spending time and money in our community can’t thank you enough so god willing we will see you in December  so for now think Spring  #newberry #snowphotos
