Newberry Trail Report – Visit Newberry – 03/10

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE – March 10, 2016… There’s not much left of the snowman here, we still have coverage for off trail riding and the icy top layer should allow you to go many places without getting stuck. Plan on trailering and bringing extra gas if you must do a last ride.

North Trail #9 Pine Stump Jct./Seney/Grand Marais This trail is in fair condition.

Trail #45 to the Falls/Paradise Trail is in poor condition.

South Trail #9/2 to Epoufette/Trout Lake Trail is in poor condition.

There is still snow in the woods but we are losing snow fast. The warm temperatures and our forecast is for rain. As of last night we are done grooming due to the condition. The snow in the staging area in Newberry is gone so do not plan on riding out of the town to the trails. If you want to ride snow I recommend the Holland Staging area on CR 407 (Pine Stump).

South Trail #9/2 to Epoufette/Trout Lake Trail is in good condition.

All 3 groomers were out last night grooming the trails and will be out again today. We received snow yesterday and it is snowing today. We needed new snow for the trails and the streets in town. Just for everyone’s information our groomers leave Newberry between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. and return in the early morning hours.
