Trail #9 Trail is in good condition. We want to report that there is a logging operation on Trail #9 about 10 miles in on the CCI road from CR 407 (Pine Stump Area). Please slow down and watch for logging trucks. Riders on Trail 9 are going off the trail between CR 453 and CR 415 and running over new trees that were planted by the DNR PLEASE stay on the trail.

Trail #45 Trail is in good condition

Trail #9/2 Trail is in fair to good condition. DETOUR there is a large hole in the wet area by the power lines before Caffey Corners be careful on trail # 473. We are grooming the rest of the trail to Trout Lake. There is less snow on the South Trails.

We received 3 inches of new snow last night and it is still snowing. All 3 groomers were on the trail last night. Just for your information our groomers leave out barn in Newberry between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm and return in the early morning hours. Our longest trip is to Pine Stump area.

We do not groom in the village, and the curfew in the village is 11 P.M. to 7:00 A.M.

Newberry Trail Report – 01/22

January 22, 2016

North Trail #9 Pine Stump Jct./Seney/Grand Marais This trail is in good condition. There is a logging operation about 10 to 12 miles in on the CCI road from CR 407 (Pine Stump Area). Please go slow and watch for logging trucks.

Trail #45 to the Falls/Paradise Trail is in good condition. There is still a wet area in the swamp between CR 500 and the Tahquamenon Falls.

South Trail #9/2 to Epoufette/Trout Lake Trail is in fair to good condition. There is a wet area past Caffey Corners on the Trout Lake trail. There is less snow on the ground near Epoufette.

We grooming our trails everyday but due to the lack of cold and our late snow fall our trails are breaking down fast. We do not have a good base and after 200 sleds ride across our trails they will be bumpy.
