ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via NORTH COUNTRY SNOWMOBILE CLUB – 02/19
Trail 13 is clear of the groomer, reroute closed and trail reopened. We had limited grooming last night due to our volunteers exhaustion dealing with the stuck rig two nights ago and yesterday. Trail icyness is increasing rapidly. Please ride slowly!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Light snow will continue moving into the western half of the UP over the next 2 hours. Snow will continue west to east quickly, diminishing in the Keweenaw and central as the night progresses. This is an easy one!! All of our trail system was groomed yesterday!
Every trail is in good to very good condition with the exception of Trail #1 along Lake Superior between Silver City and The Porkies Ski Hill. Very light snow, mostly snirt, slow down for any low area as they are bumpy.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Widespread snow will begin to spread west to east this morning while a heavier snowband looks to set up in the central UP this afternoon. Uncertainty still remains where this snowband will park, however, heavy snowfall rates will likely create difficult travel along US-41 from Delta to Marquette/Alger counties. Tonight, widespread snow transitions to lake effect snow for the north wind snowbelts.

We spent 7 hours this morning out doing the lord's work cutting them bumps down from Ontonagon to Rockland to White Pine. Come ride!! Temps are perfect for winter adventures! This is the second take, I thought it was Sunday... 🙃 Anyways... GO PACK GO!! #ontonagon #westernup #snowphotos

All trails are in surprisingly good condition except Trail 1 along Lake Superior which has a thin, snurty ice base.
Big shout out to our VP Ricky and Mike from Superior Outdoor Maintenance & Services LLC for getting us out of a little jam this morning. #ontonagon #westernupTRAIL REPORT: We groomed Trails 137, 101 and 13, Trail 12 from Potato Farm Rd to White Pine, and Trail 1 from Trail 12 to Lake of the Clouds. No big changes for the UP, although a bit more snow is now forecast for the Keweenaw and central UP.
