WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Accumulating snow will continue to spread across northern Michigan today into Sunday. Accumulations remain consistent to this mornings forecast with 3-6” for most of the area and localized 7”+ possible where heaviest snow falls this evening and tonight. The combination of snow covered roads and reduced visibility will lead to hazardous travel across parts of the area. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey #soo #newberryAccumulating snow will continue to spread across northern Michigan today into Sunday. No new snow and its icy and mostly dry but my lake is emerging in the back parking lot. My nieghbors were just here and they are going to try to ride to the bridge. I told them to send me a picture, we will see how that works out. There is a prediction of 1 to 4 inches for today but I do not think that will help much. I have a piece of property that I keep plowed out and that was all down to dirt this morning. The wait is on again... #gaylord

No big changes for the UP, although a bit more snow is now forecast for the Keweenaw and central UP. We lost alot of snow overight and it is now icy and slippery. Strong winds and rain most of the night didnt do us any favors. I was outside about 5 this morning and it was very warm out there. Currently at about 11 friday morning its 33 degrees and slight snow in the air. I have had several calls on people wondering what its like out. There is still alot of snow in the woods but with all the rain I think you will go right thru the slush to the bottom. On the other hand weather said we could get up to 4 inches tonight. Its amazing how great conditions can be and how fast it can dissapear ……Pics below are all this morning. If you stop by to see me just wake me up cause I think this is going to be a boring day... Shown below is the expected 24-hour snowfall accumulation from 7pm today through 7pm Friday, along with the 24-hour snowfall from 7am Saturday through 7am Sunday. The 12-hour "gap" in between those two periods is the lull between the two waves of snow, when not much is expected to happen. And the snowmelt from the warm spell today should largely have ceased by then. More snow is also expected after 7am on Sunday and even into Monday, but it's a bit too early to call the snow amounts for that time period.
