HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 03/12
Trail Update!
Spring Riding conditions. We got out & groomed both the east & west sides this weekend and overall they are in good shape. Any areas in open sunlight are thin/down to dirt & the railroad grade is pretty much gravel but plenty of trail to still ride.
Ride safe, ride right, ride sober!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> 11:42 PM ET 12/28/25 Update: A mix of rain, freezing rain, and sleet will transition to heavy snow across northern Michigan over the next few hours. Freezing rain/drizzle may lead to minor icing into early afternoon before better chances move into the eastern U.P. and Tip of the Mitt this evening. Rain transitions to snow this evening and tonight, combining with strong winds to lead to blizzard-like conditions across parts of the area on Monday. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> There is a storm system moving into our area today, it looks to be starting off with rain this afternoon and switching to snow tonight. They are predicting roughly a foot of snow to fall tomorrow and 40-50mph winds.
With the high winds we are expecting lots of trees and branches to be down on our trail system along with drifting snow. If your out riding on Tuesday please use caution, we will get out as soon as we can after the storm to assess the situation. #harborsprings #petoskey

A major winter storm is expected to bring significant snowfall to portions of the region. Most of the accumulating snow will be along and north of I-80. No matter how much snow will fall, there will be strong northwest winds that will create blowing and drifting snow. Travel north of I-80 will be near impossible at times. Some road closures are possible along and north of I-90 given greater accumulation and more persistent blizzard-like conditions. Heaviest snowfall totals through sunrise Tuesday (there will be more after) will be along Lake Superior. Snowfall rates could exceed 2" an hour at times due to lake enhancement.
