Newberry Trail Report – 02/16

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Curtis Area Trail Association >> We just went and opened the gates and took care of a few downed trees on our 45 Newberry trail. We have about 4” in Curtis and found close to 8” by the time we got to Newberry. It’s definitely rideable but watch for water holes and some rough spots.
Big thanks to the Fish and Hunt Shop for the sleds tonight!

<>

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Pine Stump >> About 4 inches of wet heavy snow so far. We are supposed to get some more today and tomorrow.

We had some snow survive up this way that froze up hard.

It’s spring conditions. If you want a bunch of miles stay home. I don’t know how the trails will be. If you want to ride some two tracks and stuff and put a few miles on I think you can. Trailer up to the snow.

Everyone in the area would love to see you. Need to take a chance once and awhile right?

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Town Hall Snowmobile Club Paradise MI >> Paradise to Seney today was excellent- We took “alternate” routes and boondocks to and from Pine Stump but I’m sure the paradise trails were fair despite the fact they are not being maintained at the present time. Massive drifts coming back and white out conditions made for a blast. Chics Hot Dog Stand 8 and 452 Paradiseprovided the Hot chocolate on the way out. Ended the evening at Wheelhouse Diner & Goat Locker Saloon back in Paradise. TASA, Grand Marias, and Seney operations have their trails dialed in beautifully- Andy’s Bar in Seney has the burger!! All areas received several inches of fresh snow today and it’s still coming down hard at 11pm. #paradise #newberry #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Here is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.
Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Not too impactful of a system in terms of Michigander standards, but do take it slow if you encounter any snow squalls and/or visibly slick roads. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyHere is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.

Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/16

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders – 02/16

17 degrees this morning and snowing. I picked up a total of about 4″ yesterday and another inch and a half last night here at my place. I was hoping to wake up to more this morning but can`t complain…..right? “They” are still saying lake effect bands will set up all day today and we might get around 3-6 and keep snowing till Sunday.
Here`s something cool. Some of the locals were out riding yesterday and they reported the conditions back to us. Most of them were just ridin around the Point trails and they had a blast! They did say they were hittin a little dirt and roots so there isn`t quite enough snow to groom yet. They all said they were gonna head out on trail #8 towards Pine Stump today and will let us know if there is enough snow to groom out that way. If we get this predicted 3-6 today I`m sure we`ll get dem groomers out!
Ok, just trying to keep ya`ll informed. If your thinking about coming UP this weekend it can be done but just expect “early season” conditions.
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Groomer Chris

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Town Hall Snowmobile Club Paradise MI >> Not perfect but we’re riding in Paradise on the high grounds. Last nights 4-6” on top of the hard “base?” made all the difference more snow as you get out of town, less along the lake shore.

Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise.
