Paradise Area Trail Report – 03/12

GOOD MORNING & welcome back WINTER !!!!! Paradise has 180″ of snow for the season so far…we should hit our 200+ inches this year..
its 10:00am and 25 degrees….Everything is white with 2″ + of snow…a welcomed Scene after looking at ugly browns, slush and potholes for 2 days….:)

***Weather for the next 24hrs is bringing daytime temps in the upper 20s for the shore of Lake Superior and teens tonight…with 2 -8″ of snow varying with 8-18/gusts to 25 mph N.W. ‘lake effect’ winds… With our spring time variable weather conditions..its hard to predict more than 24hrs…we will see what mother nature leaves us….:)

Trail Report….we we are down to a ‘really good’ to ‘good’ rating.. …down a notch from excellent…as trails soft and hard to manage… sharp corners are a little icy…with predicted snow we will be back up to a marginal excellent rating….

Hazards….with gusting winds, lake effect, and temps in the teens tonight…drifting will occur in open areas…sharp corners are starting to get icy…please stay on your side of trail and slow down…noticing alot of people cutting off the corners in a ‘big hurry’ i would assume…doesn’t take many to make the trail bad for all of us…mountain machines with paddle tracks can kick alot of snow out of a corner when powering thru the inside of a corner..
Thanks …Have fun…Traffic last night was very low…great mid-week riding available.. …

Benzie Area Trail Report – 03/12

We received a dusting of snow in the past 24, but not enough to groom and the trails remain very hard and icy. All we can do is sit back and see what the weather brings our way.

Benzie Visitor Bureau – 03/07

Hi all! Slowly but surely getting thru the week! Unfortunately the snow is diminishing, especially along the south trails, especially along the Manistee River. Trails to the North of Kaleva are holding up pretty well, still in good condition. The Bear Lake Spur #386 was groomed this morning and if temps stay down Trail 3 from Kaleva to High Bridge #3 will be done. Groomers will go out but only as weather allows when temps are under 30 or so. So, Spring is on its way already but lets hope we hold on for a bit yet! Groomers are out there working to make it as good as it can be as long as they can! Don;t forgte to change your clocks this weekend! Beware – the Club’s Trail into Saddle Up can not be groomed now due to logging in the Norconk Swamp area. Lots of debris & big ruts! So till next time! ENJOY! and remember I love your emails and pics! BIG shout out for the emails FedEx Lloyd and Clint! Love em’! Be safe, be smart, have fun out there, and I’ll seeya on the trails! Carol
