Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 03/22

We have a break from the snow today. We had gotten another 4″ of snow yesterday. Our temps for the weekend will be in the low 30’s with our night time temps in the teens. We still have great weather for riding. With our low traffic and great condition now is the time to come and have a great time riding. Our time for riding is winding down we only have little over a week left before the trails close.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority: With daily and nightly grooming ongoing. The trailboss reported this morning all trails are in good shape. There is a trouble spot on 160. A groomer broke through a creek so use caution signs are posted.

The Lake Gogebic groomers report:
Snowmobilers in the area are reporting the trails in very good condition with low traffic. Grooming is ongoing. Come up and have some fun with all the new snow we have gotten.

The Watersmeet groomers report: Conditions are very good, best they have been all season. We are getting more snow again today. All trails are groomed. Come up and enjoy some great riding.

Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 03/22

March 22 – It is 28 right now and partly sunny on its way to 35. We had a low of 15 last night so it set things back up again and thats what is called for the next week or more. Great riding weather and the trails are in great shape. Hope to see you out there either on sled or in groomer. Remember all of our drivers are volunteer and put in many hours to keep the trails smooth. Go to our web site www.sootrails.org and buy them a cup of coffee for their hard work!

March 20

We have had 2-3 inches of new snow last night. Some road shoulders were bared off if you are planning on using them.

Trails are in the best condition of all year, flat, white and groomed.

Trails are all in good to excellent shape, but the longer the time after a groom the the rougher they get. Groomers are out smoothing out the trails daily. Hopefully if you find a not so smooth section you found many more that were freshly groomed. Groomers run 24/7 on different sections. Trails are generally groomed once a day on weekends and everyother day during the week depending on traffic, temps, and breakdowns.
