Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 12/17

First Ride – Dec. 17

It was time for us to do more than just shovel or plow the snow. We took the sleds out of hibernation and hit the trail this afternoon.

Great riding. No lack of snow anywhere. The groomers did a great job with all the light fluffy snow they had to work with. Trail 7 from Waters south to Frederic was really good.

We were on trails 7 and 4. Overall the riding was good. A few bumps but nothing to spoil our fun. We rode between 40 and 50 mph without any problems.

A few other riders were out. The trees are all laden heavily with snow. It is beautiful out in the winter white.
I have posted pictures on the blog from today’s ride.

Drummond Island Trail Report – 12/17

The west end of the trails are Fair to Good shape. Water holes on this end of the Island are frozen now. We have a nice base right now and it wont take much more snow to make them really good!

East end is CLOSED at this time… With major water holes and very Little snow on the far east end. We will go going back out on this end of the Island on Thursday and hopefully some of the water holes are more solid now.

We have one Groomer completely broke and the other one limping. The one should be fixed tomorrow. The other one is waiting for Parts.

Base: 4 inches
Snowfall Past 24 hours: 4 inches
Last Grooming: 12/17/2013
Current Trail Conditions: Fair
