Benzie Area Trail Report – 12/29

SO HERE IS THE SCHEDULE : Trail #3 from Maple City to Alysworth was groomed late last night along with the main corridor of #3 including Landis Loop. A groomer is out right now on Trail #3 to High Bridge & Brethren Express. Trail #3 Kaleva to Thompsonville along with #39 & #395 will all be groomed this evening. Bear Lake spur #386 will be groomed Monday. IT WAS A FANTASTIC WEEKEND OF SLEDDING!

In a 20 minutes span at the intersection of 3 & 39 yesterday I counted 42 sleds. Everyone seemed to be out enjoying the sunshiny day. Loved the snowman on Trail #3 near Turtle Lake it was a dandy ! Thanks to whomever took the time to create it !
The warm weather and heavy traffic was very evident by the time we headed home last night but the groomers had to wait for colder temps…..

Benzie Visitor Bureau – 12/26

Hello! I hope your Christmas was great! Snow snow snow! Yeehah! We’ve gotten 6-10′ since Christmas Eve alone! Yay! Snowbirds say the snow total for the year so far is 80 inches! Groomers will be out today and early tomorrow grooming the entire trail system. There is a pretty 8′ base in most locations. Watch out for logging operations in the Norconk Swamp area on trail #386 and on Trail #3 North of US-31 watch for ruts, mud and large slow moving vehicles. It’s our time baby! Get out and ride! Remember to watch out for the groomers and give them a thumbs up as you pass by! Be safe, have fun! Keep in touch! I love your emails! THANKS SO MUCH for the email and pic Greg M! LOVE IT! SEEYA on the trails! Carol

Indian River Trail Report – 12/28

The people are here and trails are being enjoyed by all! Conditions are excellent in the morning but expect fair to bumpy trails by late afternoon. We’ve got temps around 35 today which will soften things up but not for long. We aren’t worried; we have so much snow and below-freezing temps are forecasted to return tomorrow. We’re also expecting more snow tomorrow-perfect! Then by tomorrow night into Monday we’ll only see single digits. It’s going to be a great riding weekend. Be safe on the trails and expect oncoming traffic at every turn. Until we meet again–happy trails. To join or renew Grooming Club membership, send your email to info@indianriversnowmobiling.org or visit www.indianriversnowmobiling.org. Thanks to your support we’re building our groomer ‘barn’ and will soon have a new facility where we can store and work on the equipment!
