Newberry Trail Report – Halfway Lake Resort – 01/24

Wow! What an awesome year so far. We have a solid 30" on the snow gauge and we add a few inches of fluff almost every day. Riders are saying this is the best they have "ever" seen the trails. We will update our trail report if anything changes, but I am running out of things to say… snow.. lots of it! Awesome trails! Low Traffic! Groomers running!

Why head north and cross the bridge to ride? You can go miles and miles and miles without seeing a stop sign and frequently without seeing another sled. We have 30" on our snow gauge and there is more snow north of us. Newberry is 1 hour north of the bridge.

CAUTION: Trail #45 (Newberry-Tahq Falls) will be plowed starting January 8th from Skyline to Atwood Association for logging. PLEASE BE ALERT AND WATCH OUT FOR TRUCKS AND TRAIL CONDITIONS.

Surround yourself in lake effect snow and ride a different direction each day! We are located 12 mi NW of Newberry (Halfway to Lk Superior) and 7 miles south of Pine Stump Junction. Between Grand Marais and Paradise. Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association grooms over 125 miles of trails that interconnect to hundreds of miles of trails groomed by local associations

Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/23

Trail conditions remain Good to Excellent throughout the system. I received the following report from Al Green our Trail Coordinator this morning: ‘…excellent trails south of M-55 and some trails north of M-55. Trail #37 was a little choppy, but not bad and it is being groomed today. Still some ice in the corners but all is WHITE with the 2′-3′ of fresh snow last night. Not much sled traffic on Tuesday and Wed. but it should start picking up again later tonight and tomorrow.’

Temperatures are expected to remain rather chilly throughout the weekend and additional snow is expected.

January 19, 2014

We picked up another 3 inches of snow today. The wind has been blowing it around so it looks like we got a lot more than that. Al Green, our Trail Coordinator, was grooming the White Pine Trail this morning and said there were times when he could barely see where he was going. He said the trail groomed up nicely going south but when he turned around and headed back north he found places where the snow had made drifts over the trail again. He commented he didn’t see much ice on the White Pine Trail. Between 9:30 a.m and 10:30 a.m. he saw 41 sleds.
