Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/03

Good Morning…its 10:00am and warmed up to -6 degrees….about -15 overnight… but sun is shining and milder weather in the forecast…..

#### Weather WE received approx. 4′ of weekend snows…. Lake Superior is now 100% frozen & our Lake Effect snow systems should wind down..( see picts) .Snow only predicted for 1 of next 10 days…. Temps in the TEENS & SUNNY daytime …Single Digits night-time for most of next 10 days…….

#### Trail Report…..All trails in a + excellent condition…Lately with more riders venturing NORTH…trails are showing more wear from 2:00pm till dark….mornings are best/pristine as trails are groomed overnight…

#### Hazards….. None… Nothing seen…nothing reported…NOTE:::Corners are starting to show some wear as snow is granulating and temps are cold …this week of sunny- warmer temps should help correct this……

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/03

The snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open. The groomers are out working on them and the trails are in very good condtion but watch out for drifting. Remember to watch out for the groomers when you’re out on the trails, they have the right of way!!

There is logging being done on Trail 124. It is signed but please use caution.

Trail 122 from Lake Linden to Gay is closed for logging. Gay can be accessed on Trail 124 or Trail 133 out of the Lac La Belle area.

There is a temporary re-route on Trail 3, north of Mohawk because of logging.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, please, drive safely. The signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the riders’ safety. Please, DO NOT remove or destroy these signs.

Please be aware that if you snowmobile on U.S. Coast Guard property you could face federal trespass charges.
