Traverse City Trail Report – Blue Sky Snowmobile Rentals – 01/16

This weeks snow has brought the trails back to near perfect conditions. We rode about 70 Miles yesterday with a large group. The trails were covered in a blanket of 10 inches or so of new snow. The groomers have been out putting the trails back to excellent condition for the weekend. This winter is shaping up to be one of the best in a while. We have seen an increase in daily sled traffic in and out of Peegeo’s. Everyone says the trails are great and we’ve had great feedback about our trail system from newcomers. If you have not had a chance to ride the Boardman Valley you need to make the trip. If you need a sled for a friend or are looking to rent a few and come to our area we can accomodate.

Great news… Blue Sky is offering the new E-tec 600 Grand Touring. These are awesome machines with more power, better fuel efficiency, and more features than the 600 touring. We are booking out fast for the next couple of weeks but still have four and eight hour rentals available.

Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 01/16

We have lake effect snow advisory for today into tomorrow. We received couple of inches of new snow over night with snow continuing to fall. Temps will be in the twenties and teens for the next few days. Looks like it will be a great weekend to get out and ride. We have snow in the forecast for the next ten days.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority – Reports all trails are groomed and are in good to very good condition. Trail 11N still has one wet spot, but otherwise the trail is in good condition. 160 was groomed and is good condition. Trail 2 & 8 are in good to very good condition. We have gotten word from the DNR trail 11S will be closed due to logging this winter.

The Lake Gogebic groomer’s report: Grooming is ongoing. Trails are all in good to very good condition. With the low traffic what better time to come up and ride our great trails and take in some beautiful scenery. Watch for signs posted on the bridge out on Trail 8, east of Bergland, it will be rerouted over the dam at the north end of the lake. This is marked so use caution in this area. The gas station in Bergland has reopened and is renamed the "Bergland Outpost" this is great news. Please stay on trails..riding on unmarked trails jeopardizes our trail easements!!!!

The Watersmeet groomer’s report: Grooming is ongoing. Trails are in good to very good condition.

Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, Please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them.

JUST ONE MORE REMINDER: PLEASE STAY ON MARKED TRAILS. RIDING ON UNMARKED TRAILS CAN RESULT IN THE CLUBS LOSING EASEMENT FOR THAT TRAIL AND IT CAN ALSO RESULT IN A POSSIBLE TICKET FOR YOU.
