Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/02

CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort – 01/02

Conditions- Fair

Snow last 24 hrs- 4-6”

Hello- it’s been a nice heavy, wet snow today .. I’m guessing it’s about 4” so far.. Best thing now will be for some sleds to start packing in the frost and ice base. We did keep some ice base in most protected areas.. Another 3-4” we should be able to have some decent riding 🤞.. Temps look good for the foreseeable future. THINK SNOW , Pete

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Accumulating lake effect snow continues across northern Michigan today into Sunday. Gusty winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow, leading to quick drops in visibility – especially across open areas. Wind chills look to stay below zero today into tonight. Cold temperatures may also lead to freezing of wet roads this morning, contributing to potentially hazardous travel conditions for the first half of the weekend. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyAccumulating lake effect snow continues across northern Michigan today into Sunday. SENEY AREA UPDATE via Mater’s Stop -N- Go Gas Station – 01/02

Trails are looking good. We have ran into a few groups we know. Pretty cool. Was cool seeing you Matt and your whole gang. Took a little video of you guys coming up. It’s in my comments. It would let me post videos and pics…I seen your hunny this morning when I was working at store.
Yvonne and Blair. I got a pic of you kinda too late. That was cool seeing your whole gang.
Ryan and Zack. Hey hey !!
Got to see Miss charlie and Jeff.
This is why we do what we do. Just love it.

Five inches in town, James said this all came this morning around 6.

SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association – 01/01

Trail 43 out of seney overall has held up pretty well. There are 3 or 4 water spots to contend with, so please ride with caution. As the temperatures will be cooling down we will be getting the trails smoothed out the best we can. The trails still have a good base to them in most areas, we just need some decent snow fall to get them back in shape. Along 77 out of town is dirty but snow covered and fairly smooth. North of the parking area on 77 the trail is better but obviously thin. Getting around town right now is ok at best. We need snow to make things good again, and alot of snow to make them great.
