Newberry Trail Report – Halfway Lake Resort – 03/17

Lots of snow out there! We still have 32" on the snow gauge. Guests are reporting trails to be a "trail rider’s best dream." Groomers are doing an excellent job breaking up the top crusty layer and laying the trail flat. You can ride right from here to reach the trails. I posted pictures of the trails and trail access on our Facbook page, so be sure to check them out.

Off trail riding- guests are reporting deep snow, but having a hard time breaking through the 1-1.5" crusty layer in open areas and advise riding with caution.

Ride right from your door in a different direction each day! We are located 12 mi NW of Newberry (Halfway to Lk Superior) and 7 miles south of Pine Stump Junction. Between Grand Marais and Paradise. Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association grooms over 125 miles of trails that interconnect to hundreds of miles of trails groomed by local associations.

Trails have a good base. Trail conditions are fair to good depending on the area. Trails have not been groomed since Wednesday due to the weather. They did groom Saturday Night! Friday night we received rain that changed over to snow. We received 2 – 3 inches of snow over the weekend. Please be careful as the trails do have wet and icy areas.
