Gaylord Area Trail Report – VisitGaylord.com – 01/02

Photo via The Waters Inn

We are getting reports of about 10 inches of snow in the Waters Area. It is a start. But it doesn’t look like enough yet to get the groomers out. More snow on Saturday and that may add enough to the base to get the groomers out for the first time this year.

Sledheads of Frederic – 01/02

Its a sunny cold and crispy morning outside in Frederic, it was minus 2 earlier and even though its very sunny out its still about 8 degrees. We had maybe a half inch of very light fluffy snow overnight. Yesterday after about 3 a few sleds poked their skis out but I still think its way to early. The only good thing about those that were riding yesterday is that its good for carbide and slides sales. Even when I went home last night there were 2 sleds crossing the business loop by 72 and there is a lot less snow in Grayling then there is in Frederic. Weather and snow predictions are looking promising but we need a whole lot more to get the groomers going. So its still best to wait it out. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/02

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!

Woke up this morning to 15 degrees and a fresh 6 inches of lake effect…..YEA!!!! Looks like someone found Ole Man Winter hiding in the woods and kicked him square in the chops and got his butt in gear!!

The trails are looking better an better everyday and every inch of snow. We ran outa snow to push in the big water holes to freeze them up but this fresh 6 inches WILL help ALOT. I`m thinking by the end of this weekend we`ll be good to go with all trails. Right now I`m rating them all in fair condition. We are running the groomers as hard as we can and doing the best we can with what we got….it will be even better by the end of this day. It is supposed to remain cold and snowy for the next few days so if you are thinking about coming UP I think you will be happy…happy…happy!

Come on UP and lets ride!! LET ER SNOW Groomer Chris
