01/05/2015 Only in the UP. This morning it was snowing and blowing so hard you could hardly see and this afternoon, beautiful blue sky and sunshine. And yes, we appreciate seeing the sun every now and then. Cold out but hope those riding have sunglasses with them-would be very bright.
It has snowed & blowed every day and night for about 10 days now. When it stops, it is not for very long. Back to the extreme cold- it is 1:05PM and with the bright son it is -4. At the end of yesterday, Twin Lakes has measured an official 141.2 inches snowfall.
It is a “for sure” that any water problem areas are going to be frozen so as the saying goes “Out of something bad comes something good.
Our Club would like to thank everyone for patronizing our local business’s in Mass City, Greenland and Twin Lakes.
The groomers have been out on schedule every night. If you have any questions on conditions between these reports, 906-288-3404 and we’ll tell you the best we can. We pass on information to you that we are told by snowmobilers. Under trail conditions on the right side of this page we aren’t given in-between choices to click but in our 138 miles, we go from good to very good conditions. Trail #3 is exceptional and with this continued snowfall & cold temps, everything will just get better. Dress warm, have fun and ride safe. Ride with caution at all times.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO GIVE GROOMERS THE RIGHT AWAY. FOR ONE REASON–THEY ARE BIGGER THAN YOU ———-AND YOU CAN MOVE OVER TO THE SIDE EASIER THAN THEY CAN——AND THEY ARE OUT THERE FOR YOUR BENEFIT OF MAKING YOUR RIDE MORE ENJOYABLE. THANK YOU…

We want to Wish you a great snowmobile season with the New Year!! Groomer report coming soon as more snow falls! Hope your ready for another great year again.
There still is not a significant amount of snow to begin grooming operations as of yet. There is about 4 to 7 inches of snow on the ground with drifts in some areas. The temperatures have dropped with frigid arctic blast moving in. The forecast is calling for high winds blowing snowdrifts, more snowfall; possible additional snow showers each day throughout the week. Temperatures will be down in the single digits at night, with highs in the double digits by day. Hopeful we will be able to keep the snow we accumulate to build our base. Things have changed it’s looking like winter out there with snow and more coming with grooming about to begin.
We hope to report very soon our favorite saying; “Well groomed and ready to ride”. Keep your snow dance on.
Remember this Saturday with luck we may have enough snow Hope you can join us for our Open House every Saturday in January and February….. at our clubhouse, located on 14121 Industrial Drive in Kaleva. There is great conversation, free warm-up coffee or hot-coco with a snack will be provided by the club. All are Welcome!!

Happy Monday! Got snow? We do! IT started out as an inch or two of system snow on Saturday and turned lake effect Sunday. We got anywhere from 5-8′ plus inches! There isn’t really enough snow yet to get the groomers out but SOON I hope! Forecast is for a few more inches over the next few days! So It’s not groomed and great but is that rough sorta early season rideable! So let’s hope this is the beginning of a good rest of the season finally! Temps have sure dropped so if you do venture out, bundle up! It’s single digit cold with below zero windchill! They tell me there has been some trail trouble on #39 (N.E. of Thompsonville) due to flooding over trail. They been working on it (filling in low areas and grading) so hopefully with that and the super cold , it will freeze up and snow will cover. NOTE – The Benzie Manistee Snowbirds Clubhouse has an OPEN HOUSE every Saturday in January and February! Stop in! They are located at 14121 Industrial Drive in Kaleva. Fun conversation, free warm-up coffee or hot-coco & a snack provided by the club. All Welcome!! OK! So till next time keep up the snow dance! I’ll pop back in here once we get more snow and the groomers can get out! Thanks to Tim & Steve for your emails today! I LOVE hearing from you all out there! SEEYA on the trails baby!
