HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Clubβ – 01/14
We had all three groomers out last night & the trails are shaping up nicely. The base is anywhere from 3-7β, with the thinner spots being towards Mackinaw and Alanson.
The water holes behind the groomer barn (trail 71) are still a little wet but not bad.
Letβs hope the snow & cold are here to stay! π€πΌβ

HARBOR SPRINGS UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> 2025 Ice Storm Damage. The destruction to our trail system is overwhelming, and it will take an army to clean it up. Whether you ride these trails on a snowmobile, side by side, four-wheeler, drive them in your truck, hunt these woods, walk, or bike them, we will need your help. We have a meeting this Thursday at the Harbor Barn with the Mud Brothers & Beachβs Up North Tavern to get plans together for a trail clean up on 4/26. #harborsprings #petoskey

Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Additional icing across the area appears less likely today with only a glaze of ice possible for some areas. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency? Are there any numbers showing ice accumulation for Antrim as compared to surrounding areas?
