NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Halfway Lake Cottages, LLC >> 12/11
Trail Update 12/11/25.
Good morning all and welcome to the first trail update of the season. I’ve been a bit slow getting these started. Temps have been well below freezing since thanks giving. We had 1 big snow over Thanksgiving that dumped about 10 inches. Since then, up until last night its been a couple inches here and there a few times a week. Last night into this morning we picked up a solid 8. Were at a solid 2 ft for the season so far. Trails are decent as long as they arent in the swamps. Traffic overall is low with it being early season and all the snow from Gaylord North. Not gunna lie, alot of you are missing out.
9 from Newberry to Pinestump is good. Its been panned and groomed a few times now.
45 to the Falls is Closed at the 500. Swamp is still doing swamp things but temps are staying below freezing. Hopefully in the next week or so it will open.
9/2 South. TASA went down to Epoffete a few days ago. The last system we got came out of the south and dumped aboutb10 inches.
Surrounding clubs are hit and miss because of swaps. Paradise hasnt been out much. They have a groomer that wasnt happt when they fired it up and have. Mechanic taking a look at it. 45 to Newberry is closed because of the swamp. You can gst to Paradise from the north on 8/9. 452 and 453 have water holes so be carefull if your wanting to make that loop.
Curtis has been to Newberry and reports are good. Some of their other trails are in the swamp and are not open. Check there page out for more details.
Seney has been out as well and made it over to 9 on 431 a few days ago.
I wouldnt hesitate to come up if your looking for a ride. It’s still early season so be sure to check in on the socials of# the clubs in the area your riding for current updates.

I know you all have some pretty spectacular equipment I see on trail 9, but we all know who has the best seat in the house don’t we..😎
We’re back at it, squishing in another 6″ or so leaving town, spreading it out like butter. 😊
Yesterday I shoveled a good foot off my deck in Newberry, was clean 4-5 days before, it just keeps coming 2″, 3″, 6″, still 5″ -6″ fresh the entire trip so far today, turned and headed up to Holland Lake Park and Ride.

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 12/14/25 10 degrees this morning and cloudy. Mother Nature FINALLY blessed us with a good dumping of snow! We have picked up a solid foot or more in the last 36 hrs. and its been COLD. Following up from my last report......the tech did finally make it out and went through our computer problems on all 3 machines. 2 of them are up and runnin good now and we just got the parts we need for the third one and that will be good to go today. Now, on to whats been happinin with the trails...... Yesterday we took 2 machines with 4 guys but no drags and headed south on trail #8. We skipped the swamp just south of town and started at the river mouth. We ran across just some minor water holes at the south end of the power line and a touch more severe in the Federal Forest section. We kept the gates closed in the Federal Forest section to give that a chance to tighten up. Tomorrow we are gonna send the same set up around the Point Trails #452 & #453. The other machine will hit the Pine Stump trail #8 doing a full groom. After we see how all that goes we will hit the Falls trail #45 hopefully by the end of the week. I`m sure ya`ll have seen we have a slight warm up coming this Tues. for a couple days so that will dictate what we do on the Falls trail and the Swamp south of town. Groomer Ken got out to play off trail in the Raco area today on the forest service roads. He said there’s lots of fluff and to be mindful off trail for stumps and rocks as the base on the off trail roads and 2 tracks is still building. Love when our volunteers get to get out and play a bit!
Thanks for sharing, Ken! ❄️❄️❄️

Hello everyone!
‼ Important trail notice!!! ‼
You may have seen us talk about the construction on trails 472 & 480 in the Spile Dam area between Raco, Rudyard, and Kinross.
There is MAJOR construction in there to build a brand new bridge, as well as build up the road (from sand/dirt to gravel). There is a ton of equipment in there.
While we do not have authority to close the trail, we are strongly advising that you avoid this area until further notice. The gate on the Raco end remains closed.
We cannot groom from Tilson road on 472 all the way to just the other side of the Raco gate on 480.
I wanted to share a visual on the map of where we are talking about. The green area in the rectangle is where we are asking you to avoid, for your own safety, and the safety of the contractors.
Expected completion is sometime in January, weather depending. We will update as we learn more.
I’ll pin this post so that it’s easy to reference.
SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 12/16/25 Good evening everyone! Trail 49 update, between the Soo and Kinross. Lane groomed from Kinross to 12 mile yesterday morning. He reports that he brought up some water between devils hill and 12 mile, but he was able to knock down a lot of the rough stuff and said it is getting better every trip through. He rode it after he groomed and it is passable, nothing too deep. He advises that you need to pick your lines to go around wet spots, which is typical in the early season. There were several sled tracks after he groomed👍🏼 Last night, Dennis groomed 49 from the Soo south to around 11 1/2 mile. There’s a ditch around there that he couldn’t get through so he back out and headed back. He said that there are still some wet spots to watch for, but it’s passable via sled. Temps are still below freezing at night, even with a few days above freezing, and the thaw/freeze cycle should actually help that trail. We need some more snow to push into the wet spots and we’ll really be able to get this trail in good shape. Thank you Lane and Dennis! ❄️❄️❄️ Remember, we are on Groomer Tracker! Half of each subscription fee comes right back to the club. We appreciate your support! #soo ... See MoreSee Less
SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 12/16/25 Thank you to Bryan, Logan, Pete, and Dave for clearing this gnarly widow maker from trail 8 between 5 and 6 mile. It was just sort of dangling there and would have made a real mess if left to fall on its own. Much safer for riders and our operators now. #soo #snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 12/15/25 Hey guys! Rider report from Greg regarding trail 49. If you subscribe to our system on Groomer Tracker, you can see that we have not been through there since Lane set the trail a week ago, but we’ll update once we are able to get in there. For now, good advice from Greg👍🏼 “The trail to Kinross is a disaster right now (trail 49 from Alberta Ln in the Soo to Gaines Hwy) The power line just as you get out of town has a big wet hole and once you get past that there are holes in the farm fields. Stay out until they open it. The big swamps are fine they just have no snow. The trails in kinross are good. Everything other than Soo to kinross is amazing” We’ll keep you posted! #soo ...
