Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/10

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> 02/10

Monday February 10th 2025
First off I forgot to mention that’s a silver fox hat which I picked at the 2004 Sturgis Rally.

We are getting hammered pretty good today so if you’re driving up be extra careful there’s time it’s a white out. If you’re out riding Ride Right and slow down we’ve had enough accidents this year.

The Portage Lake Lift Bridge is not open for crossing, but things are looking favorable. Stay tuned for more updates soon! #keweenaw #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

Gaylord Area Trail Report – 02/10

Gaylord Bureau –

February 8, 2025

9:20 AM

We’ve had heavy traffic on the trails and they are currently in fair condition. Groomers are running around the clock and will continue to do so to create the best trail conditions possible. Fresh snow is on the way this weekend, too! As always, stay aware of your surroundings, ride safe and enjoy the snow!

Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord.

A few things to remember about our groomers and trails:

– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way.
– Please move off the trail when groomers are approaching and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night, so stay alert.
– Always ride on the right side of the trail.
– Ride safe and ride sober.

Want to be ready? Get a free trail map delivered right to your mailbox and plan your adventure!

As always, check back with us for updates and weather reports.

Sledheads of Frederic – 02/10

There is a light snow falling and its still fantastic out there. Saw both Grayling groomers out and about this morning. Rode 50 miles yesterday afternoon and I still say this is the best snow in years. Supposed to be some light snow each day this week so that is good and the temps should be great too. I think that there is so much great snow out there that it has all the riders spread out everywhere. Went off to rescue a couple of friends that blew a belt about 15 miles from Frederic after I got back here from our ride so that was another little adventure. Also Big John & Trent rode back into Frederic after their 3 day 800 mile run to the u.p. and back. They left Melstrand at 5:15 a.m. and were back to Frederic by 2. Thats a power run. Thats it for today , thanks for checking in. Pete
