Ontonagon Trail Report – Scott’s Superior Inn – 03/01

Got 5-6′ of wet heavy snow, perfect for fixing lots of the problems with the trails, groomers are out now fixing trails, with warmer temps end of week, this might be the end for this year, so if you’re looking at one more ride you might consider next week

Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/28

February 28, 2021

32 degrees this morning and partly sunny with a stiff SE breeze. We hit 46 degrees yesterday…….yes 46! Here`s how things look as far as the trails…….

I ran the South trail #8 yesterday. Started out in the morning and everything was good but by the afternoon it started to get not so good. The swamp south of town really turned ugly on my way back. I didn`t break through any water holes but there sure was a lot of water on the trail and the snow/slush was about gone. I`m rating the swamp as poor and the rest of the trail as fair.
Mike C. ran the Pine Stump trail #8 and told me it is good in some spots and just fair in others. He also ran the Point trails #452 and #453 and said the same about them.

Gerald ran the Falls trail #45 and called that just fair. He said he didn`t break through any water holes either though….which is good.

I`m sure you`ve all seen the weather reports just like us. We are supposed to cool off for tomorrow and maybe get a couple of inches then go right back to the 30`s by Tuesday….bummer. We are hittin the South trail, Falls trail and the Point trails again today to get them good and flat after the traffic this weekend just in case we get this snow.

I`m heading out to da barn after I finish this and meet with da boss and we`ll discuss whats next. What we`ll probably do is just "spot groom" when the weather permits. The best I can say is keep checking back here and I`ll keep ya`ll up to date as to whats happening.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Expect a few light lake effect snow showers in the NW wind snowbelts through this morning with minimal additional accumulations.
