Munising Area Trail Report – 02/28

TRAIL REPORT February 28, 2022

STILL GOOD RIDING CONDITIONS!

No significant changes. Trails are in an overall good condition with a dusting of new snow. Operators were reporting good results with our trails primarily in very good condition east of M94, to the West of that good condition. Trails are expected to get choppy throughout the day. Operators are doing what they can with the tools at hand as we are still waiting for the return of our Big John Deere. Get out and Enjoy the Trails, Ride to the Right and Stay Tuned for updates!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 2/28

Donnie made a run last night to straighten up the trail after another high traffic weekend. Trails have been getting rough later in the day, and we will continue to see this trend until traffic numbers decrease. Midweek trails should hold up better with mild temps still below freezing and some chances for snow early and late in the week.
***I have been getting reports from landowners on and near the trails of sledders trespassing on their property. The pipeline is not public property. The fields on the trail are not public property. Many of these fields still have barb wire and other hidden dangers around and in them.***
Ride right and ride safe.

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/27

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 2/27

Are you a weekend rider or a midweek rider?
Sundays are always a bittersweet day for some riders. It’s time for them to head home after a trip to Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula and get back to “reality”. Usually thankful for the time they were able to get away and enjoy some awesome riding, but also excited to get home to family and friends that were not along for the trip.
For others, Sunday means arriving into town to enjoy some mid week riding! Mid week riding usually has far less traffic on the trails. Whether you enjoy weekend riding or midweek, the Keweenaw is always a good destination!
Jason Dowiasch and his dad are heading home today from a great Father/Son trip to the Keweenaw! Jason and his dad arrived Wednesday the spent the days riding all over the Peninsula and yesterday took a trip down to Bond Falls! They stayed at the Super 8 in Houghton. The Super 8 is a great location for lodging and is a supporter of the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club.
Jason shared these photos from their trip and said, “I got my dad up here again, just beautiful up here with all the fresh snow. Been here since Wednesday. We have ridden all over the Peninsula and even made a run down to Bond Falls! We had great food at Eagle Harbor Inn and we are even dining here now for a second time!
I want to say that the Groomer Tracker App really comes in handy! A huge thank you to all of the groomer operators!”
Thank you for the beautiful photos Jason and taking the time to share parts of your trip with us! We couldn’t agree more about how valuable the Groomer Tracker App is! If other riders would like to have up to the moment griming operation information, please download the Groomer Tracker App and subscribe to the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club trail system.
