What a storm! This latest system absolutely delivered, with measured totals ranging from 14 to 24 inches across the region — all depending on which ZIP code you call home. Either way, this was a game-changer snowfall for the western U.P.
The result? Trails are as good as they’ve been in years.
Deep base, excellent coverage, and that soft, ride-anywhere feel that makes the Porkies and Ontonagon area so special. The fresh snow bonded well, filling in old imperfections and setting us up beautifully for grooming. If cold temps stick around (and they are), we’re in a sweet spot.
Expect: • Outstanding coverage on main corridors • Great conditions on secondary trails • Off-trail areas loaded with snow (use caution and ride smart) Another clipper is heading our way starting today bringing another foot of snow and brutal cold for the weekend. Stay inside if you can and keep all skin covered.
This is the kind of reset we wait all winter for — and right now, it’s prime time to ride the western U.P.
👉 Thinking about making a trip? Trails run right past Scott’s Superior Inn & Cabins — warm rooms, rider-friendly parking, and Lake Superior views when you’re done for the day. Book a stay and make a weekend out of these unreal conditions.
As always: ride right, ride safe, and we’ll see you on the trail. 🛷❄️
