Grooming Remains on Pause for Tonight, the forecast is favorable the next couple days – we need some cold to freeze the slush. Keep those COLD and SNOW dances going!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> 02/25
Hopefully this post can answer the numerous messages, texts and calls asking “is it still worth it to come up?”
We would reply:
✅ A visit to the Keweenaw is always worth it!
✅Grooming has been TEMPORARILY paused, pretty much all across the Upper Peninsula, due to the warm temps
✅ There IS snow in the forecast and colder temps
✅There are SO many things to do in the area in addition to snowmobiling!
✅The CopperDog Events start on Friday! This is an incredible “don’t miss” event to see
✅Boondock Inn U.P. North Resort is hosting The Semi Retired Iron weekend event : Findout more here -https://www.facebook.com/share/161qfrZRTk/?mibextid=wwXIfr
✅Cliff View Bar located right on Trail 3 north of Mohawk has REOPENED
✅Restaurants, Bars, Lodging etc are always happy to see you!
We understand some of you are driving long distances, etc BUT no one else can make the decision for you of “is it worth it” That is far too much of a subjective question!
Road crossings and some parking lots, for the most part are bare, however the trails are still covered in snow! Before this warm up we had received 85 inches of snow in February for a season total so far of close to 240 inches!
Riders out over the weekend and yesterday(Monday) had this to say:
Mike Aschliman “The trails held up pretty nice, but we have our “spots” that most don’t go, so it keeps them fresh. We love it!
Wow is there is still plenty of good snow and areas with a ton more lol. 5-8 foot of base in most the good areas. (Off trail) Saturday night and Sunday trails were flat and fast but even today(Monday) they held up great and were amazing for the temps we had.. keep up the great work. We greatly appreciate the Keweenaw Trail Reports fb page updates”
❄🩵
We also had a queen riding the trails of the Keweenaw on Monday! Holly is the face behind Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association fb page, Groomer Operator, Board Member, etc over on the East side! We are sure all of you that ride that area, LOVE everything Holly does to keep you updated! She is the bomb 💣 and pours so much heart and soul into helping ensure riders ha the best possible experiences! Holly was joined by her husband, Jason (also huge part of the club and Groomer Operator) and friend
Holly Ann shared photos and said, “Despite grooming being on hold, we had mostly very good trails today,
everywhere north of Calumet, even at 45 degrees! A testament to the work they’ve put in all season. My fist time to the Keweenaw in winter, and can’t wait to come back when conditions are even better! I included a few of the zillions of pics from the Keweenaw today. Spring temps, and MID winter snow depths🙌🏼❄💙
Trails 17 and 3 from Calumet south are really rough, but north of there was awesome! The streeys are pretty bare in Eagle Harbor, so may want to mention that, but the trail between Eagle River and Eagle River (trail 130) was beautiful!”
Hope this helps some of you with your upcoming plans!
Thanks Holly, Mike and ALL who share their riding experiences!! 🩵❄👏

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Snowmobile Club >> 02/24
Unfortunately as we sit here at 40° still, we are on PAUSE for the evening. We will reevaluate things tomorrow, need those temperatures to drop and things to freeze up so that slushy on the trail turns back into good surface for you all after we groom it! In the meantime, check out our merchandise, grab a raffle ticket and support all of our wonderful local businesses as we take this midwinter breath.
Thanks,
The KSC Board of Directors
