Update- we are doing the best we can and so appreciate your patience! We have a track issue that we are looking at today on our machine that goes in and out of Kinross, east and west.
The Pisten Bully is out without the drag in the Raco/Brimley/Bay Mills (parts of 8, 889, 480, and the powerline) area packing trails down.
The city trails (part of 8, 49 and 449) will be done again today.
8 from the Soo to Brimley is in good shape.
All other areas I would rate as poor, some haven’t even been dragged yet but we are trying. Lots of drifts and water holes, especially on 49 south of the Soo, 472 from Rudyard to 480 in the Spile Dam. Gates on 472 and 480 are not open yet but will be soon. Sleds can get around them. I have not heard yet on the gate on 49 north of Gaines Hwy.
Please use caution and expect early season conditions plus lots of snow.
Also- from our friends to the west with Chippewa Snowchasers- they are reporting extremely deep snow by Ranger Road off of trail 8 so use caution there as well! It’ll suck ya in! Ask me how I know🤣

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Heavy snow and bitter cold wind chills are expected to begin tonight and continue through Monday. New snowfall of 4-8” with locally higher amounts are possible by Monday night/Tuesday morning. Wind gusts of 30-45+ mph are expected Monday morning and afternoon. Wind chills will drop well below zero through Tuesday as well. Jay and I hit the city trails last night and they are in good shape. Some choppy spots due to heavier traffic earlier, but we smoothed them out as best we could and saw very little traffic on our run.
Snow was falling the whole run and should be a beautiful ride in the morning.
